Jason Todd, Batman couldn't let it go and honestly otherwise he is not a loving person.

I find Jean Grey annoying so it is just good that she died.

Thread title asks for the more iconic DEATH, not CHARACTER. The arc where they died is what matters so much.

I'm going to go with Todd. Not only because of the iconic picture, but because of what it did to the story as well. Suddenly Robin was gone and Batman couldn't do anything about it. And it impacted him, a lot. Then Jason came back, but unlike most 'revivals' out there he was changed, he wasn't the same and most likely never will again. His death was a brilliant plot device, in my opinion.

Jean, by far. It's still affecting the Marvel Universe today. Whether you like the story or not, her death can be considered iconic, definitely.
