Michelle Rodriguez - Stop Stealing White Superheros
@mysticmedivh: I knew that was coming at some point lol
She delivers it wrongly(she had a couple i can tell) but she's right.
"Make up your own" roughly translates to "CREATE NEW CHARACTERS AND LEAVE ALREADY ESTABLISHED ONES ALONE" and that finds me in total agreement.
@allstarsuperman: @cattlebattle: Well she's not saying no to diversity
@jonny_anonymous: No, she's just saying no to the politically correct and buzz generating crap they try to pass off as diversity.
If I wasn't already in love with her this would do it. :P

Agreed.
It's a shame she's probably going to get some heat for this. :/
She is obviously too dumb to know that John Stuart is a "made up on their own" superhero and that many minority superheroes were created by white people. And the fact that she uses the term "stealing" and " this whole minority diversity on hollywood" said with condescending contempt is more proof that she is a bigot and a fool and is fully indoctrinated into the brainwashed mindset of bigotry that pervades society.
@theswordmaster: Hm I think you are confused.
Agreed.

Examples already exist in this very thread. :(
I don't see a problem with "stealing white superheroes" in a movie adaptation of a fictional character that has tons of different incarnations people can choose from. I like movie versions to be as close to the comic as possible, and I prefer races to stay the same but I'm not gonna complain if they switch.
@theswordmaster: Hm I think you are confused.
No I am not confused at all. Bigots typically try to justify, rationalize, and defend other bigots and their bevavior. I think you are indoctrinated.
Agreed.

yep and oye the irony in one user statement. Just out of curiosity sake I logged onto twitter (ugh) and noticed three things. Greg Rucka followed her and someone sent her a Malcom X speech.
She also posted a clarification video over the subject. Not sure it helps.
@theswordmaster: Wouldn't it be less racist to create a new and unique character?
@mysticmedivh: I knew that was coming at some point lol
@theswordmaster: Hm I think you are confused.
Ah i see you are the OP. You are trolling pure and simple. You should be ashamed of yourself.
It seems like Marvel/DC only change the race of their characters for attention, not plot. I'm okay with an actor with a different ethnicity portraying a white superhero as long as he gives a good performance.
@ostyo: Now that I think about it, I can only name two characters created in the past 10 years who have come anywhere close to being big names (Kamala Khan and Damian Wayne).
@jonny_anonymous: Ignore him. It will only get worse.
She's an idiot. Jessica Cruz was created Latina...
Jessica Cruz isn't, nor has she ever been, a white woman. Now I'm cheering for Jessica Cruz to get cast as the "Green Lantern" over Hal, and cast someone other than Michelle Rodriguez. Preferably someone who can act, and has common sense.
@superguy1591: Power Ring =/= Green Lantern
Why does everyone presume she even knows much about these characters? Maybe all she knows is Hal from the movie and doesn't even know about the other humans.
@theswordmaster: Yes yes, deeply ashamed. I prostrate myself at the altar of your wisdom.
Up till this point, I preferred Hal since I prefer Hal and Barry's chemistry, but, now? Oh, we HAVE to go with Jessica. I hope Johns makes something out of her in The Darkseid War.
All you crybabies need to get over it. Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, the biggest three heroes in the DCU, are still white. Why are you putting up a fuss that they want to make all kids, not just white kids, feel represented and feel like they can be heroes?
What is wrong with you guys? They're not even offering the minorities the leading roles. We all know Batman is going to be the Iron Man, we all know Superman is going to be the vehicle through which the story is told(Captain America), why do you care about the peripheral characters?
This video, and the posts that followed, just made me angry.
@theswordmaster: Go back to your ban, Weaponmaster
@ostyo: I know. Was just pointing it out.

Literally white guilt: the post

Not good enough.
Now kiss.
@jonny_anonymous: Whoa, make a truly unique character and not ride on the coattails of another more popular one?! YOU SPEAK MADNESS!

Go back to your skinhead/klan rally you evil bigot.
They're on hiatus out of respect for Black History Month
@saren: White guilt? Are you serious? Theyre not even changing the characters' races anymore, they're just including different heroes.
The JL has NEVER, not ever, had a set group of heroes. They had revolving heroes with Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman being the "big three."
And I really hate this: "why don't they create their own" line since it was used to justify "seperate, but equal" a century ago. I'm not kidding, it's like I'm reading a court case from 1920.
Everyone needs to get over this.
@dernman: You don't have to convince me too hard that she's an idiot.
I kinda agree with Michelle here.
I completely agree. Each movie character should be as close to the comic version as possible.
@superguy1591: So because she's not knowledgeable about comics or watch cartoons she's an idiot? You're being unreasonable and letting your emotions get the best of you.
@sodamyat: She wouldn't be playing Hal Jordan, though. They asked her about Jessica Cruz. What are they betraying? The fact that the Justice League was created in the 1940s and DC didn't make a minority hero until the 1960s?

When did they ask her about Jessica Cruz aka Power Ring? They just said Green Lantern. It's very understandable that all she knows is Hal from the Reynolds movie.
@xwraith: It's hard,and not lazy.
There you go.
@dernman: No, because of her statement about "stealing white heroes," that is why I think she's an idiot.
@superguy1591: Wanting your own characters isn't unreasonable
