I know this has been done numerous times, but still I want to share my opinion with you and you to make your own list.

So, my list based on powers and some on role:

For some heroes:

Black Panther - Batman
Quicksilver - Barry Allen
Speed - Bart Allen
Thor - Captain Marvel seems to be the closest
Iron Man - Could probably be Steel, but also a Green Lantern
Hercules - Herakles

Ms. Marvel - Possibly Wonder Woman
Hulk - The most probable can be Solomon Grundy
Mr. Fantastic - Elongated Man or Plastic Man
Silver Surfer - Infinity-Man or Hal Jordan
Nova - Possibly Hal Jordan
Captain America - Could be Superman, but Batman is closer
Bucky - Robin
Hyperion - Superman
Sentry - Superman, however some powers differ greatly
Gladiator - Superman (three Superman clones)

Drax the Destroyer - Orion in role
Scarlet Witch - Zatanna in role (both are the magician of the group)
Dr. Strange - Dr. Fate
Namor - Aquaman
Human Torch - Firestorm, although it can be Fire due to Firestorm controlling more than fire.
Iceman - Ice
Hawkman - Archangel
Mar-Vell - Probably Alan Scott, although any Green Lantern can fit in

Phyla-Vell - Jade
Genis-Vell - Kyle Rayner
Ant-Man - Ray Palmer
Hawkeye - Green Arrow
Mockingbird - Black Canary

For some villains:

Red Skull - Not sure, could be Ra's al Ghul
Dr. Doom - Lex Luthor
Green Goblin - Joker
Kingpin - Amos Fortune
Electro - Livewire
Terrax the Tramer - Probably Mongul
Magneto - Cosmic King
Blackheart - Etrigan
Deadpool - Deathstroke
Taskmaster - Deadshot
Nick Fury - I know he's not a villain, but the closest I can find is Rick Flag or Maxwell Lord
Loki - Black Adam in role
Thanos - Darkseid (this one is obvious)
Marvel Ares (he's a hero but counterpart is a villain) - DC Ares
The Fury - Doomsday
Abomination - Solomon Grundy fits better as his counterpart
King Hyperion - Superboy-Prime is the closest
Crossbones - Bane

For some gods and cosmic entities:

Grandmaster - Can't find someone though I'm thinking of Overmaster
Odin - Highfather or Shazam
Uatu the Watcher - I say Ganthet
Phoenix - Maybe Ion
Dark Phoenix - Maybe Parallax
Master Hate - The Butcher
Mistress Love - Predator
Impossible Man - Mr. Mxyzptlk
Mad Jim Jaspers - Emperor Joker
Marvel Zeus - DC Zeus
The Stranger - Phantom Stranger
Mephisto - Neron
Dormammu - Trigon
Kronos - Time Trapper
Master Order - Nabu in role
Lord Chaos - Mordru in role
Death - Death of the Endless
Eternity - Kismet
Galactus - Imperiex, though not that sure
Abraxas - Anti-Monitor
Chaos King - Mandrakk in power and possibly Nekron in role
Living Tribunal - Most say The Spectre, but I will say Michael
One Above All - The Presence

So, here you have it, my list.

I'd say...

Spider-Man - Nightwing (wisecracking acrobats who started out young)

Batman - Iron Man (orphaned rich guys with high-tech arsenals)

Wonder Woman - Thor (mythological powers and a trademark weapon)

Catwoman - Elektra (femme fatale and often switch sides)

Black Panther - Aquaman (kings who are on the all-star teams)

Bane - Venom (dark versions of their arch-enemies who get their powers from a substance)

Superman - Captain America (red & blue leaders with high morality)

spiderman is more of a marvel batman

both have an iron will so much it could be considered a power there is no quit in either bruce or peter.

they are both driven by watching the death of loved ones they both consider it their responsibility to protect their city.

and out of all superheroes these 2 take it the hardest when they fail.

and they are both geniuses.

they both have super hot ladies dressed as cats that fight them and still keep a relationship with them.

they both fight large reptile looking badguys.

they are both underdogs most the time but win through intelligence skill and creativity.

@comic_book_fan: Have to disagree there because from a personality standpoint they are very, very different. From a personality standpoint, Peter Parker and Dick Grayson are better counterparts, in fact many people consider Dick Grayson to be the Peter Parker of the DCU.

@youknowwhattodo:

do you dis agree with any of the reasons i gave you.

A lot of the similarities you've mentioned can be shown with dozens of other superheroes because they're tropes of the superhero genre. For example, most superheroes have an iron will, they don't give up when the going gets tough, that's what makes them heroes above all else. Witnessing a parents death and using it to drive them to heroism is a very common trait. Also, many superheroes are geniuses, there are very few of them that have average to above average intelligence. Taking it hard personally when they fail is also a common trait amongst heroes. Finally, in almost every superhero story, they are the underdogs when facing their arch-nemisis, if they're not, then how can we as a reader feel the tension, even Superman in his stories is the underdog when fighting guys like Darkseid, Doomsday and Brainiac. Long story short, most of what you said can apply to the superhero genre as a whole.

The only ones that are unique are the cat-burglars and reptile villains but I don't think that's enough to make Spider-Man marvel's Batman.

Peter Parker is a normal guy who has to work a normal job to make ends meet, Bruce Wayne is not, he's a billionaire playboy who lives in a mansion. Peter Parker deals with tragedy through humor Bruce Wayne does not. Peter Parker behaves like a man-child at times, Bruce Wayne does not. Peter Parker often takes things too lightly, Bruce Wayne takes things too seriously. Peter Parker often runs into conflicts head first without thinking it through, Bruce Wayne is very calculated.

I can go on and on but from a personality standpoint, they're so much different that I can't see Spider-Man being Marvel's Batman or vice-versa.

@youknowwhattodo: peter doesn't take things too lightly it's a front his inner monologue shows this he jokes on the outside but he knows how serious things are and takes them as such.

and i know that it most of what i said applies to most heroes but not to the extent superman as powerful as he is when he fails to save someone fills bad but understands he can't save everyone he treats it almost like missing a game winner sometimes to me bruce and peter though often times takes it much harder.

same with the ill power bruce and spidey often times break mind control out of sheer force of will.

Wow. Spot on dude! This was mine exactly save for Catwoman and Elektra, I would switch Elektra out for Black Cat.

The more obvious choice, of corse. I just thought it was too obvious. And take Ben Affleck into account. :D

Elektra is an assassin with high loyalty and intense training. I feel it doesn't really fit with the two flighty disloyal robin hood style (sometimes) theives with no loyalties at all. other than that. I love what youve done here. particularly with Bane and Venom, and Black Panther and Aquaman (btw why does everyone insist on Aquaman-Namor... their personalities are COMPLETELY opposite.)

I was going for the "has both fought and made out with a masked antihero played by Ben Affleck" aspect.

captain america would fit with deathstroke better , super soldiers who can kick almost anyone's butt

hulk-etrigan. mild mannered genius (in his respective field) can transform to a creature of immeasurable strength that is viewed as somewhat a anti-hero.

as for batman: moon knight, daredvil, black panther and spider-man. they all fit his role in some capacity

@___living_tribunal_22__:

Great job on this list, but in my opinion the closest analogue to Nick Fury (in terms of skill level and temperament) would probably be King Faraday.

Although Rick Flagg is a decent choice as a back up...
