NEW YORK—In a month that has already seen several key changes to popular comic book characters, publisher Marvel Comics revealed Monday that a new version of Spider-Man archenemy the Green Goblin would be left-handed. “We felt it was time for Marvel to give theSpider-Man series an exciting new perspective, and we’re confident readers are going to agree when they catch sight of obsessive Oscorp researcher Dr. Charles ‘Lefty’ Langkowski,” Marvel chief creative officer Joe Quesada said of the change, which will come in an issue that follows the left-handed scientist, who accidentally spills a biogenic serum from his clumsy right hand and subsequently transforms into the unhinged, Halloween-themed supervillain. “From throwing his signature arsenal of Pumpkin Bombs with his left hand rather than his right, to leaning in the opposite direction while riding the Goblin Glide, it’s a fresh, new path forward for the character, and everyone at Marvel is excited for fans to follow the ‘Sinister Southpaw’s’ reign of terror.” Reactions to the announcement have reportedly been mixed, with a number of readers praising the introduction of a more relatable figure, while others expressed frustration that the Marvel Universe still lacked an ambidextrous character.

Its not just the fact he is now left handed, ITS THAT HE BETRAYS YEARS UPON YEARS OF CONTINUITY! And think of all the Right handed fans that are now put off by this change.

I have never paid attention to weather a character was Left or Right handed. For all I know everyone in the Marvel Universe could be left handed and I don't think I would have noticed nor cared.
Anyways, this is my new favorite arcticle! I can't believe Marvel is trying this hard to show diversity.

While Marvel is obviously betraying it's readers of YEARS and YEARS by making this decision, one that WILL ABSOLUTELY ALIENATE them causing them to STOP reading Marvel 5EVER, one good thing has come out of this. Finally, us left handed people (Yes, that is right everyone, I AM left handed. SHUN ME IF YOU MUST!) can finally be represented and I can FINALLY relate to a character. Even if this is just some publicity stunt.
As a lefty I feel that it's about time we had proper representation. 12.5% of humans are left Handed! It's about time Marvel caught up with DC, as up until now we lefties only had Sinestro to hail!
Ugh it's not like left handed people even read comics. Adding diversity for the sake of diversity, all it's going to do is get curious new fans and lose all of us true fans! I want the character to stay the same, to be the character I grew up with! I swear, I'm going to boycott Marvel. Too many changes all at once.
