I'm a massive dc fan (always have always will be) but I would love to read some good marvel comics or graphic novels. If there are any you'd recommend because of their quality or you think might help me to read other ones please leave a suggestion.

You can't go wrong with any of these:

Astonishing X-Men - Joss Whedon

Uncanny X-Force - Rick Remender

Fantastic Four/FF - Jonathan Hickman

Daredevil - Brian Bendis(bleh)

Punisher MAX - Garth Ennis

@mondomamabrains: What writers do like, because a lot of writers have written great comics for both Marvel and DC.

If you've ever had any interest in Captain America, go straight to Ed Brubaker's run. It brings Cap into the modern era and captures Cap perfectly and is simply an amazing run. I'd even suggest starting with The Marvels Project (also written by Brubaker) as while it focuses on the birth of super-heroes (starting with the Golden Age) in the Marvel Universe, it also details Cap's origins and features his first outing as Cap and is a great lead in to Brubaker's run on Captain America.

Ultimate Spider-man by Bendis

New X-Men by Grant Morrison

Annihilation by Giffen

The Immortal Iron Fist by Brubaker

Hawkeye by Nicieza

These are just a few books I consider high quality.

@tbrand32300: I'm new to comics all round but much more experienced in DC. I've read Grant Morrisons Batman, Geoff Johns Green Lantern and most recently some of my favourites were Brian Azarello's Wonder Woman and Snyder's Batman. I've read others but those were my favourite.

@mondomamabrains: Honestly, the best way to go about this is to find something cheap and interesting, and just buy it and see if you like, because you have to start somewhere. All of the suggestions above are great, IMO.

@strafe_prower:

Well Brubaker did co-write the first arc but after that he just gave some ideas through X-Box Live, while Fraction did the rest and also had the got solo writing credit in some of the issues.
