is there a difference? I notice between artists but not between companies....specially since artists keep changing companies from time to time

There is no difference anymore. There used to be a house style for each company that they would have most if not all of their artists adhere to, hence those old how to draw books you can still buy for each respective company. But, today every book published by each just goes with whatever art style the current hired artist has and many of them go back and forth between the two.
