Magneto and the GL Ring

So Magneto can generate electromagnetic pulses of great strength and generate and manipulate electromagnetic energy down to photons.

The Green Lantern Rings use pure energy supplied by a Power Battery, which in most cases takes the form of bright green light. This energy is the green light of willpower of the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum.

My question is if he was to come across a Green Lantern or any Lantern for that matter would he be able to manipulate or use the ring against the user or for himself?

No I don't think so. However, I wouldn't be surprised if he was able to use a yellow ring.

@dodirty: I doubt he could do anything to the ring itself, but he would be able to bend any of the beams/constructs unleashed by the Lantern.

@koshi_waza88: Magneto does not bend metal he control electro magnetism; which extends to things such as lightning and I would argue light based constructs.

Lanterns can do everything Magneto can, and to a greater extent. For Max to control a lantern's ring, he'd have to overpower the lantern's own control over it which isn't happening to any named corpsman.

Despite the name, the Electromagnetic spectrum really has nothing to do with electricity or magnetism.

Well, we saw with repeated battles between Dr. Polaris and Hal Jordan that the powers will have some effect. We saw him able to manipulate Kyle's ring, if not the power it controls.

He certainly has the power to put up a good fight, and has the Willpower, Rage, and ability to cause Fear to be eligible for a Green, Red, or Yellow ring.
