I've often said that life should come with sound tracks for different situations. We should have have little mp3 players that spontaneously break into the right song, at the right moment, for the right occasion...
For example, sometimes I'll ask a question in class (I teach) and wait for one of my students to reply or work the problem out. While they're scratching out the answer I'll often break into the theme music for Jeopardy.
Or, if I have to make something, repair something, or perhaps cooks something very quickly, I'll break into the theme music from Mission Impossible. Daaaaaaaa duh duh duh duh DUUUUUHHH DUH, duh duh duh duh DUUUUHHH duh! (you know the tune.)
So, today I had one of those random thoughts, "What theme songs would be appropriate back ground music for different comic book figures?" A few ideas came to mind...
WOLVERINE
- Hair of the Dog by Nazareth. You know the one... "Now you're messing with a... SON OF A...."
- Friends in Low Places by Garth Brooks... maybe?
- Killing time by Metallica
EMMA FROST
- I'm a Bitch by Meredith Brooks.... I think she'd pick this one herself.
- I hate myself for loving you by Joan Jett... What with Scott stealing her Phoenix powers.
- Sexy and I know it by LMFAO
JEAN GREY
- Alive again by Chicago
- This Woman's Work by Kate Bush
- My immortal by Evanescence
Tony Stark
- Iron Man by Black Sabbath. This one is sort of too easy... On the nose, so to speak.
- If I only had a heart by the Tin Man in Wizard of Oz
HUMAN TORCH
- I'm on fire by Bruce Springsteen
- Burning down the house by the Talking Heads
RED FALCON
- Free Bird by Lynard Skynard
Those are just off the top of my head.... So, how about you out there on the comic vine? What suggestions have you got?
