Let's settle it. Who is Marvel's Trinity?

IMO it depends on what you mean. By Popularity or Universe. In Universe it has been for a long time now Thor, Captain America and Ironman.

By Popularity it "use" to be Spider - Man, Wolverine and Hulk. But with the MCU's rising fame Ironman has already taken a spot and Cap is getting closer. If Ragnarok is good Thor may save himself a spot.

Marvel doesn't have a trinity like DC does, but in terms of popularity... Probably Spider-man, Wolverine, & Iron Man.

Any Marvel 'Trinity' without Spiderman is no trinity. Though Hulk, Cap, Stark, and Thor have had their popularity boosted with the MCU, Spiderman is still the most Iconic and potentially still the more popular of the three. I would put Wolverine in there also. The 3rd could be anyone of the four previously mentioned, but I'll choose Captain America.

If you're factoring in merchandising, popularity and general recognition over the last few decades then I'd say Ironman, Spider-Man and Hulk. Hulk may not have had much success on the big screen but he still had the longest running live action Marvel television show so far and he was well known before anyone other than comic fans gave a solitary f**k about any of the movie Avengers other than Cap. Iron Man mainly because he's the anchor of the MCU, and Spider-man because even without a smash hit movie in recent memory he's still Marvel's #1 cash cow.

just yesterday, i was watching a gameshow in spanish that was about surveys

one was superhero related, and ironman wasnt even mentioned

they asked 1000's of latinos, and not even one person answered ironman

there were only 4 answers. the list in order of answers went

@spider-manwins: I know all that. But check this, Spiderman had toys from the movies, cartoons, comic books and more that year so he had a major advantage, he has way more. I didn't say Ironman is more popular than Spider-Man, Spiderman is one of the most iconic characters on the planet.

But the trinity is actually about the effect they have in their universe not ours. Because if it was popularity, then DC's as of now would be Superman, Batman & Flash.

Like many have said...Cap, Thor and Iron Man have been "The Big Three" in-Universe for a while now. Those 3 are the core or backbone of MARVEL's preimere team in The Avengers.

In sales/merchandising/general public...Spider-Man, Hulk and Wolverine have dominated for a LONG time.

Cap, Thor, Stark. The three most well known and respected individuals INSIDE the MU. There isn't really one for our world as Marvel heroes' popularity seems to wax and wane depending on movies.

Cap, Iron Man and Thor is the closest to DC's Trinity.

DC's Trinity isn't really based purely on popularity and Spider Man, Wolverine and Hulk doesn't really make sense from an in-universe point of view.

I would have picked Spider-Man, Captain America, and Wolverine. These are the characters I consider to be the most important historically as well as in popularity over time.

But Marvel really doesn't need a trinity.

Actually, it should be Cap, Namor and the Human Torch since they're the oldest three to my knowledge.

'Marvel Trinity' is a dumbass concept. I like Marvel the way it is because it has so many different kinds of characters with different origins and motives that they can't be summarised in three people.

Marvel doesn't have a trinity. They only tried to create one as a publicity stunt. And they ripped off of DC's trinity, by making it Captain America (Superman), Iron Man (Batman), and female Thor (Wonder Woman. Marvel doesn't have any original or good ideas. They are only kept alive by planned controversies and pandering to the political left.

I say the teams: Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four
