That's probably because you have limited familiarity with the comic incarnation of the character. I suggest reading his New 52 series, it tends to change opinions quickly. A lot of people credit Geoff Johns with "making Aquaman badass," but that's not true... Aquaman was always like that, it was his godawful portrayal in Super Friends that initially ruined his reputation, and his continued use as a punchline in shows like Family Guy and Robot Chicken doesn't help. But when you actually pickup and read an Aquaman comic, you quickly realize that he is in fact a total badass.
Magik for me. She just seems lame..She beats any magical being with her soul sword or taking them to limbo? That sounds like BS to me..The fact that she made Dormammu beg to her also makes me dislike her because that seems disrespectful to Dormammu's character to have him beg,then again I heard Bendis was writing it so that would explain the problem
