Who are the characters with the lamest names?

Seriously though, I've always thought the name "Marvel Girl" was terrible. What shameless self-promotion for a company called "Marvel" to name its hottest character after itself. I mean, come on Stan, you can do better.

Thankfully they finally gave her Phoenix. Too bad Rachel is stuck with the name now.

All those popular characters usually have crappynames. I mean Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman... I guess they're lame so that people can easily relate to them and don't need to think what their powers specifically are.

Did any of you read those Civil War parodies in which Hank Pym was naming the heros for the new teams, giving them names like "very fast man" and "bowgirl"?

Tombstone is fresh. Robin is weak.

Alot of those lads and gals are from the golden age 50's and whatnot, so they weren't corny to that audience.

Subtelty wasn't their strongsuit.

I liked The Legion of Superheroes name upgrade during the Abnett, Lanning/Coipel era. Shadow Lass was Umbra, Element Lad was Alchemist, Lightning Lad was Livewire and so forth.
