When it comes to DC's animated flicks, you should absolutely be excited for whatever they throw our way next. Their track record is superb and Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox (which is up next) definitely looks solid. While that technically isn't out yet (releases July 30th), we're already looking beyond that and to the next film: Justice League: War. So, what'll that be about? Gary Miereanu took to Twitter and announced it'll be based on Geoff Johns and Jim Lee's first New 52 story in JUSTICE LEAGUE. Gary also revealed Jason O'Mara will voice Batman and Shemar Moore will be the voice of Cyborg in the movie.

An animated movie about the Justice League forming to take on an invasion from Darkseid? Um.. yes, please! Consider us extremely excited for this one.

Sounds good. Will it air on TV or go straight to DVD/Blu Ray?

This is gonna suck hard, that arc was terrible, like ABSOF*CKINGLUTELY terrible.

title is kind of wasted on this film, but i'll watch it

So Flashpoint is, in fact, going to reboot the Animated Cinematic Universe. I'm ok with it. I'm glad they got Brainiac in before they did this though.

#10 Posted by blkson (785 posts) - - Show Bio

So it'll cover the first 6 issues on Justice League. Cool.

Hopefully they don't go the Flash Paradox way with the animation.

#11 Posted by Batman242 (4860 posts) - - Show Bio

If it's anything they need to do, It's a new Flash movie. And I know they're coming out with Flashpoint, but that was a comic that was about all of DC.

But, yea, anything animated by DC makes me happy.

#12 Posted by Sifighter (92 posts) - - Show Bio

@black_arrow Yes that would be totally awesome. I would be good for really any new 52 animated movie except teen titans and Superboy.

#13 Edited by blkson (785 posts) - - Show Bio

@black_arrow: Throne of Atlantis would be better, in my opinion.

The story lines they pick for these movies are getting worse and worse.

Agreed.

YES!Hopefully this means the start of the new 52 animated! Think how awesome a Throne of Atlantis or Villains Journey film would be! Then we can get a Shazam and JLA movie that can eventually lead to Trinity war. My only complaint is that they only put out 2 a year. They need to bump that to at least 3 or 4.

#19 Posted by Justthatkid (2971 posts) - - Show Bio

@br_havoc: I new flashpoint would be a way to start on 52 animations and I have no problem with that but there are so many pre-52 things I want to see animated. Like Battle for the Cowl, and The spectre's attack on Atlantis.

#20 Edited by entropy_aegis (14425 posts) - - Show Bio

I dont understand why people are craving for movies based on the New-52 I mean you guys just read these same stories just months ago(Trinity War has barely started and already there is lobbying for it?) what's the flipping point? you wanna pay for the same thing twice? in such a short period no less.

#21 Posted by Hawkguy (571 posts) - - Show Bio

Idk... This wasn't that great a story. There wasn't much story in the arc to begin with. I'll give this movie a go obviously, but I hope they don't venture too much into the new 52. Court of Owls would be where I'd draw the line, MAYBE Throne of Atlantis, but even that's pushing it

@entropy_aegis: Because reading comics and watching movies are different? If they suddenly decided to make a Flash live action film based on the New 52, would you actually opposite it because 'we just read the story'?

#26 Edited by Outside_85 (8146 posts) - - Show Bio

Seems they are scraping the bottom now... but then again, like the other movies, it wont be directly adapted from the book, so it might actually be good.

I guess they are using the Flashpoint movie to do New 52 movies? I REALLY hope they do Court of the Owls, but in two parts like they did The Dark Knight Returns so they can fit everything in.

So much this. As a result, they may well now adapt New 52 stories rather than the rich Pre Flashpoint history yet to be mined. This does not please me at all.

My thoughts exactly. Don't understand all the "awesome sauce" comments when it's based off a story which is well known for its mediocrity. Would have much rather seen a Grant Morrison JLA story.

Plus, do we really need to see this again?

#31 Posted by Darkseidconquers (9 posts) - - Show Bio

Super excited! If Darkseid is staying in the story, I hope they get a good voice actor.

Nice , hope Batman does more than just standing in the background ,though . He never really got to prove why he is a founding member of the Jla in Geoff Johns run.

#34 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio

Hopefully it is going to be better than the arc it is based on. That arc was just mediocre at best, have a feeling the story is going to be flowing better animated.

#35 Posted by RoTheKid (252 posts) - - Show Bio

Eeeh.....admittedly, I'm on the fence about this. While I will most definitely give this a chance, I thought James Tucker was on record in saying that they weren't going to do that many adaptions. Just original movies. I would love to see a Young Justice movie. Or a "pure" Flash movie. Or better yet, Sinestro War Corps. Or why not take risks and do Blue Beetle or Static or Suicide Squad or Demon Knights? I don't know. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

#36 Posted by blkson (785 posts) - - Show Bio

lol I never read this story arc of Justice League but apparently it wasn't all that. I would like to see Throne of Atlantis though.

#38 Posted by Jonny_Anonymous (32844 posts) - - Show Bio

I wonder if they will ever start telling original stories

i cant go through that story again

#40 Posted by johnny_spam (2032 posts) - - Show Bio

James Tucker has said that these animated movies will start to change a bit from the material and I hope this movie is really different. Bad presentation with Darkseid weird character choices. A little annoyed this is the third Geoff Johns story in a row. Hopefully it is a good movie at least.

#41 Posted by sentryman555 (747 posts) - - Show Bio

They do this but refuse to do the Judas Contract movie!? It would sell now! especially with Deathstroke and Nightwing being in injustice.

#42 Posted by Black_Claw (2913 posts) - - Show Bio

Shemar Moore as Cyborg? Awesome!

#43 Edited by TheManInTheShoe (3876 posts) - - Show Bio

I kinda liked this in the comics so I'm excited. Kinda explains why the last movie is Flashpoint.

#44 Posted by theTimeStreamer (2841 posts) - - Show Bio

i love the idea of seeing the league again in animated form but they will push batman front and center. like always. dc needs to change.

OH GAWD! i still cringe at this, don't remind us. lol

I am on board, this was a pretty good story, not the best, but a fun one and seeing it in full on DC animated glory should be pretty awesome.

#49 Posted by lightsout (1823 posts) - - Show Bio

I don't want to complain, since IMO there aren't enough animated flicks already....but I'm disappointed (goodbye anything pre-52 I guess). There were multiple story arcs connected to "war", lesser known ones that could be exposed to a different audience...but nope. Having anyone other than KC doing Batman is also a terrible decision.

I only agree with that part
and hopefully they make tweaks to the story to make it alot better than it was, the writing might even be better.
but nothing jusifies how bad that "arc?" was.
