I personally don't feel that way but have read some forum discussions that state he is. Why do you think he is? There are much worst artist that have disgraced the pages of Spider-Man such as Klaus Jansen (possibly only in a cover but the shittiest thing I have ever seen published by Marvel) or that Ramos fellow. Does JRJR suck that bad. Do you feel that he only made it because of daddy (who by the way is the greatest Marvel artist, sorry Kirby fans)?
Please do tell
John Romita Jr: The Worst Spider-Man artist ever?
no way...imo he's one of the best Spider-man artists...same with Daredevil....I will admit that I did not like his cover for Avengers #1
Who ever said JRJR is the worst Spidy artist eve is full of SHIT and I mean the bad kind of SHIT
I'm reading JMS's run on Amazing Spidy and I have to say his art adds to the humor that JMS puts into the first 7 volumes of the book and his work on New Ways To Die and Character Assassination which are two of the most important stories to come out of brand new day gives us awesome fight scenes So any one who says his art is shit can go to Hell
@LT1085: I'm talking to you
" no way...imo he's one of the best Spider-man artists...same with Daredevil....I will admit that I did not like his cover for Avengers #1 "man, you read my mind. Top 3 spider man artist for me. And my real beef with his Avengers cover IMO is his unfamiliarity with Iron mans new duds. He def needs to step that Iron man up cuz its looking cooler almost everywhere I see it but in Avengers promo's
He WAS great. At one time his art was simply fantastic. But now he's developed his modern "style" and I think it looks terrible. In fact I'll skip a title if he's attached to it. It's a shame that he's made such a drastic and unneeded change.
If his art was a good in Avengers as it was in his Spider-Man runs I might have actually liked Avengers a little more...but sadly laziness took over and well that was that.... -__-
Anti JRJR folks are just ignorant. They probably prefer reading Liefield comics anyway. Where's the jerk off emoticon?
Ignorant? That's a little strong. First, comic art is a matter of taste. Doesn't make someone ignorant. But I stand by my statement that his "new" style is horrible compared to what he is capable of.
He is so not the worst. If you're looking for worst, you can try looking at Eric Canete's work. He made Spider-man's limbs look like Mr. Fantastic's. Stretch.
JRJR - One of my favorite artists period, the only comics where he seemed to forget how to draw was in 2011. Now he seems to be on a roll again.
Ramos - His style fits perfectly with Spider-man since many times it's comedic. If he was drawing a Sin City comic then I'd say that he should stop but Spider-man is good.
Klaus Janson - Because when I think bad art I think this:

And this too. Eric Canete is probably one of the worst (Spider-Man) artist ever!
From The Amazing Spider-Man #611:
It's such a shame, really. This issue could have been great with Deadpool guest starring in it but the art was so awful I nearly threw up :(
Count me as one more person who loves the art of John Romita Jr. I truly don't get the tastes of the guys who think otherwise.
JR's 90's Spider-man run was awesome he's far from the worst. I'd probably put him in the top 3. I will admit his new stuff is somewhat lacking but he's still above average.

See what I was talking about? That's like Mr. Fantastic on a Spider-man costume who is very malnourished and has bad case of arthritis. Geez. I am so glad this thread was resurrected. There's just no way JRJR is the worst Spidey artist.
If you ask me, Rob Liefeld is probably the worse to ever draw Spider-man (or any other character) in a professional setting. Though he is not really a Spider-man artist and he never drew Spidey in a major way, he still drew Spidey on occasion. Wanna see? Here, have fun scratching your eyes out:
His Spider-Man work is....decent. However, that's probably the best work he's ever done. Just look at Eternals, World War Hulk, Avengers, and Sentry.

It's either him or Ramos.
What's wrong with Ramos? His artstyle is very fitting for spider-man
@spideysense: Pretty classic spider-man pose he has jump like that many times. The web is spaghetti invented by McFarlane.
One of the worst is Ron Frenz his art was very stiff and boring and the panels was 3x3 more or less on every page however this should been a rule shooter used for many titles. However you could have a fight scene with almost 9 identical fight scenes. This was about 5 years after Frank Miller had introduced the noir style in Daredevil. However the art in the Hobgoblin lives and later on I remember to be better.
JRJR is a classic Spidey artist and far from the worst. I'll admit I'm not a fan of his current style but he's tolerable.
