JLA by Morrison

I'm looking in to ordering the JLA trades off amazon but should I read the Deluxe editions, they skip a few issues every now and then between trades and sometimes in the collected issues of the trade. Or should I by the original trades that collect less issues but also have every issue from start to finish. I would like to hear your opinion if you have read the Deluxe editions on if you felt like you missed any of the story.

I've been buying the Deluxe Editions and don't feel like I'm missing out on anything really.

I personally think every JLA story by Morrison is worth the read but I can't form a proper opinion since I don't know which stories are excluded. Perhaps you should buy the deluxe editions and then find alternate means of claiming those missing issues - whether it be trade or single issues.

@arturocalakayvee: well from what I've seen its only like one or two issues that are missing at a time so I don't know how much those few missing issues are going to impact the over all story

You don't have to read the missing issues. They weren't by Morrison, didn't impact his run and were horrible.

I have the deluxe editions as well and feel like I haven't missed out on anything I think those were Mark Waid filler issues not being collected anyway plus with the Deluxe edition you get earth 2

@binski: are there only 4 vol of the deluxe edition?

@batman922: Yeah I own them, all 4 of them then I had to get JLA book 7,8,9 to finish tower of babel is not in print and a popular story it may cost you

@binski: vol 7 is $30 on amazon lol but 8 and 9 are under $10 each, does 7 pick up where deluxe vol 4 ends? is it worth picking up at that price?
