Can we consider the time between each of the four Indiana Jones films a time skip ?

Also, what do you think of the idea of a Indiana Jones reboot ?

@eyedcyou: Well, yeah since The temple of doom takes place before The Riders of the lost ark thus making the second film a prequel.

And the third happens about 3 years after the riders, Kingdom of crystal skulls is set to the early fifties.
