No, it won't. It will give writers more ideas and more to work with

i mean i dont understand why we have this need for everything to be inter-connected.....

It encourages new people to read comics. And it's cool.

So before the MCU came out comic fans complaned "The movies are too different than the comics" "They changed characters too much" "It should be closer to the source material". So the MCU heard us and has tried their best to make these films feel like comics on the big screen. Now we have these kinds of complaints....

Can't make everybody happy all the time I suppose, but I think your complaint and this thread are rediculous.

I don't get what "bloated" has to do with "limiting creativity". Two sentence opening posts are never a good sign.

No Cinematic Universe Bad, Cinematic Universe Bad.
No Cinematic Universe Bad, Cinematic Universe Bad.

As long as they keep Spiderman and the X Men as other universe they dont have this problem.

The numbers say other thing.

Non comic book readers only care as long as the hype last, the hype dies and they stop buying.

@goonage: They reminded me of how crowded the MU was. Plus, how the hell could a bunch of rookies beat the Sinister friggin' Six? Or even last t\five minutes against them?

@amazingwebhead: I'm not worried about 616 becoming super crowded. Marvel churns a new crisis crossover every couple of months that kills all the useless cannon fodder heroes.

If anything, Marvel needs to cut down on the massive amounts of useless AUs it has.

Not sure what "too bloated" means..like too many movies? Too many characters in the movies? Either way, the answer is "no", and a long as 1/2 the movies are good, (And their average is above that right now.) It'll be fine.

if bloated u mean cocky and or overrated i say yes. I hate how people are saying all marvel movies are better than sonys Amzing spider man 2, when they come out with 6/10 rated thor movies. People annoy me how they are boycottting spider man movies because they are made by sony

No. Just...no. It's not bloated--especially because most of the movies are fairly self-contained. And how does this expanding movie universe limit creativity? That doesn't make sense. The movie universe being interconnected has made this continuity stand out from most other movies. In fact, it's such a good idea that Sony, Fox, and DC are trying to follow suit.

The connected movies of the MCU were an innovation in cinema! Marvel studios success is based on the quality of the movies, but also in the premise that everything is connected! If this wasn't a good idea why (Fox, Sony and WB) also want to create a cinematic universe?

How does it limit creativity? Very few MCU films are alike.

Compare The Incredible Hulk,Captain America: TWS,GOTG and Thor.

These movies and their respective franchises could easily standalone.

they kinda limited themselves so far by using the same format for just about all their movies(comedy-romance-action)

they can switch it up every now and then(Cap2) then go back and everyone will love them again

The thing that limits Marvel amazingly is the fact they want hiw universe to be uniform by making it monochromatic.

That is the only problem.

How does an expanded universe limit creativity? You are not expressing your ideas very well.
