The Creepy Smile , The Insane Laugh .this are some of the reasons why people love Joker

However , after seeing him getting beaten to near death many times by Batman. Not to mention Superman finishing him off with a fist to the chest in Injustice . I start to lose my interest in him

People like calling him the greatest villain but I see numerous street levelers could easily beat him up in a fight

What do you think ?

#2 Posted by InnerVenom123 (29499 posts) - - Show Bio

Because being a villain is all about being able to beat people up.

#3 Posted by ccraft (5065 posts) - - Show Bio

ugh, using the word overrated is overrated. Just because a character is very popular, why must you try to discredit that?

a clown that magically recovers from every beating bats gives him and with so many people killed he doesnt get the chair or a bullet to the brain from random cop #23. yes. yes he is the LAMEST batman villain ever. condiment king is cooler.

This.

A comic character's value isn't solely based on how good he/she is in a fight. Unless you mean the Joker is overrated combat-wise which...honestly, I don't think is that true, because I rarely see people hyping the character up as being some top-tier fighter in debates or otherwise.

The Joker isnt a fighter but a Planner and just twisted. He makes hero's question whether or not their doing the right thing by not killing him. He puts them in very dark places. Being a great villian is not about beating people up, its about fking with the hero in ways that affect their lives for years. Not just a temporary fight that will be forgotten after your in jail. The Joker sticks with you like a mole, his influence never goes away.

Also Every street level Character save Bob of Hydra can beat up Micheal Myers, does that make him Lame or Overrated?

So to be a good villain, you need to be the most powerful? I feel bad for you. Who's the best villains for you? Galactus?

Because the top 4 villains in comics are Luthor, Magneto, Doom and Joker. They all got beaten more than once.

Superboy Prime is the greatest villain of all time

Great Backstory. Great Character. Great look.Absolutely love his reasons for doing what he does. But best of all , he's powerful as F##@!

Oh yeah! He must be the greatest villain of all time right up there with those imbeciles from DBZ

#19 Posted by kyrees (4550 posts) - - Show Bio

i'd rather pick a villain that profoundly changes and damages a heroes' will than a villain who only overwhelm heroes by sheer strength.

Combat prowess does not equal worth as a character. I don't care that Batman or Superman can beat Joker in a physical confrontation. That is not what makes the Joker a great character. If a writer wanted to, he or she could make the Joker a physical force to be reckoned with. But nobody does thankfully. Because that is not what is important to the Joker as a character.

This is pretty much what I was going to say. I love him, hes great, but he is also overrated as in alot of people think hes the best thing in comics and that he is not.

He's the most Iconic Comic Book villain ever and no he's not overrated. He made Superman's life hell not once but twice and he indirectly made the good side loose in Injustice universe, just proves that he is better than most of the superpowered villains.

#30 Posted by AllStarSuperman (20149 posts) - - Show Bio

Yes. He's not that cool. I and I find him annoying most the time. Lex Luther and Brainiac are the real villians.

OMG somebody opinion than me! I am totally going to call him dumb and ignorant.

Just kidding. I think the Joker is a great comic villain. I view the Joker stories the same way I view pizza though. It's great every once in awhile, but does get boring.

Oh and I think Two-Face is overrated.

#36 Posted by kasino (1531 posts) - - Show Bio

LOVE The Joker, Two-Face, Bane, Penguin(as a crime boss), Scarecrow(as a fear inducer), Black Mask(as a crime lord)...kinda like Husk but not really

Like other people have said: Being one of the greatest villains isn't about combat ability. What makes Joker such a great villain isn't so much his creepy smile or his laugh, but his mind. He's a planner, but being insane he's also unpredictable.

He's a thinker, not a fighter.

I'd agree with this.

#39 Posted by Ryagan (634 posts) - - Show Bio

I'd say he's a bit overhyped by Batman fans. He's not overrated, nor is he overexposed--just overhyped. I like the Joker--his insanity knows no bounds, he's surprisingly smart, and he has no regards for emotion. I find that interesting. However, a lot of Batman fans hold him on a pedestal and treat him like he's the greatest villain of all time, and I think the praise for him is often exaggerated. He's a great villain, but his greatness is often greatly exaggerated.

#40 Posted by GraniteSoldier (6985 posts) - - Show Bio

I think awesome, a bit overused perhaps, but awesome characters typically are. Overrated? No, and being able to be beaten does not determine the greatness or lameness of a hero in my opinion.

Yes. He is. Writers dumb down everyone around him. Everyone all of a sudden become stuttering pu$&ies. Cops get killed like little, helpless kittens. It's annoying. Snyder has been doing great in the Batman title but his Joker story arc was lacking.
