The band of idiots led by Brevoort thought this would make it easier for people to read the books... funny how almost every few days someone asks why ultimate fury is in the main universe and what happened to nick fury ¬_¬
@Madame_Mist: Battle Scars was a good introduction for the character. I'm a fan.
They even said that he is just going to be an agent for a while. It isn't like he is walking right into head of SHIELD with no experience. It is nice to have a new character every now and then for some character development.
Honestly, his presence wouldn't be that better if it wasn't so forced. In a manner of panels his entire appearance had changed, he adopted Cap's old shirt, and was going by the name Nick Fury. Which is just stupid.
Progression would have been good. If he had been introduced earlier and was built up, I'd be okay with this. Nick's time as the guy pulling the strings ended well in Secret Warriors. It's just that Marcus shouldn't be pulling strings yet, he should just be an agent. Maybe he's following Quake's orders or something. Who knows? S.H.I.E.L.D. is supposed to be a U.N. peace-keeping organization, so she should have a lot on her plate and could have just assigned Marcus to overlook the superheroes in the U.S., even though they've been written as a U.S. organization for a while.
