Is Sandman really a good guy now ?

Hey I was wondering if sandman William baker was really a good guy now ? On comicvine it says he worked with the avengers but on the last part of the bio it says he is last seen with the sinister six ?

You know, I thought this was about a completely different Sandman.

Back to the topic, writers can't make up their mind on Sandman being a villain or hero. He is changing sides every 5 years.
