Is moderator always right about locking down/flaging a post?

Are decisions of moderator always correct, just and fair ?

Most times yes but not always. Most times it is because of a specific breaking of the rules but sometimes they make mistakes or lock things for other reasons which is wrong

Idk that's debatable , but what I hate the most is when a thread is going well, nobody is flaming or insulting each other and everybody is having a civilized debate and some random person comes in and calls out mods to lock it just because its technically against the rules.

@blade_r: so we discuss dragonball vs other character threads, universe vs character/universe threads and characters with absurd powerups vs other characters with the absurd powerups then ? the first topic is banned for flaming tendencies, the last two were banned for lack of discussion considering it would end up fighting the true omnipotents of such universe and the pure speculative nature of such characters respectively. civility isn't going to unban them anytime.

Actually I heard to be a mod you have to take a test to make sure you're perfect. So yes, they are always right. They are basically gods who walk among us mortals.

I'm aware of that, I understand that and im not complaining about them being banned. I just don't see why random people that aren't mods feel the need to call them to come lock a thread that isn't even ridiculous or going bad. This mainly is from a thread that I was watching that was a character vs a universe and it was up for a few days and everything was going fine, no flaming, no insults nothing negative, just reasonable debating, then some dude came in and called in mods to get it locked, and it didn't seem like he wanted it locked because it was against the rules, it seemed like he wanted to get it locked just because he knew he could get it locked, and it annoyed me. That's all. My first comment is really about 1 individual in particular.

I don't think barring someone's right to share their opinion is ever justified. As long as their opinion isn't racist.

@blade_r: I started a thread about this in the recent past. It seems that some people, for lack of a better phrase, "tell on others." Flagging individuals for inappropriate or offensive posts is one thing, but "telling on them" because they created a bad thread seems unnecessary. So I do agree with you.

Word, I understand flagging and calling mods for racism, or offensive and inappropriate stuff but doing it just to do it does seem unnecessary

If you're not doing anything wrong, they won't bother 99.9% of the time, and the people who have problems with them are usually breaking rules or being dicks all the time.

So basically, follow the rules and don't be a dick, and you wont have a problem, 99.9% of the time.
