Yes...and No.
I think Marvel recognized the success of the New 52, which was putting DC's name out there again as well as attracting new readers and wanted to do the same, HOWEVER they also recognized the flaws of having a company wide reboot, which is messing up continuity, making old fans upset, and the hard work of starting over from scratch, so they decided to not do that, and make a relaunch instead, which I think is a fantastic idea, a Relaunch can get just as many stories out as a reboot without messing up continuity and pissing off the fans. Good job Marvel!

Essentially this.
I always thought New 52 was DC's answer to Heroic Age.
@The Stegman: What do you mean by Relaunch?
I kindof wish Marvel had the balls to do a true reboot. It seems like they do a relaunch every 2 to 3 years.
Kind of but not really since pretty much everything in canon now will still be part of the continuity
@The Stegman: Oh I see, so all the current stories would be wrapping up their partnerships and whatnot right about now yes? I'm still relatively new to comics and so everything I buy is old TPB with the exception of Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe (probably should have kept my money with that one...)
@The Stegman: Oh okay, well I should probably get on that then... Haha. Thanks for the info dude.

That's how I would put it.
It seems like it's what the New 52 was supposed to be, maybe. I've read a lot of interviews where creators at DC said much of their title was written "back when it was a relaunch and not a reboot". A relaunch as in a big creative shake-up and for many characters a change of direction, but keeping the old stories canon.
Is there a release calendar for Marvel NOW specifically?
