Out of all of the MCU, CW, DCU Verses.. Is Kingpin the greatest villain so far?

Maybe its personal bias as I am a big fan of the actor portraying him but am I wrong in stating that out of all the films and current television programs based on comics... That Kingpin from Netflix's Daredevil is the best antagonist so far?

An argument...quite a large argument could be made for Loki. But besides that.. Is anyone even close?

@morleericks: Honestly I didn't like how weak the Kingpin was portrayed in Daredevil. Been quite a lot of ebtter villains within those universes if i'm honest. At least for me.

Abomination (Incredible Hulk)

Ra's al Ghul (Arrow - Not the best season but a great villain)

Merlyn (Arrow)

Reverse Flash (Flash)

Loki (Thor & Avengers)

Zod (Man of Steel)

Ultron (Film wasn't the best - Avengers)

Not even close.

Magneto, Joker, Loki, and Reverse Flash are all better than Fisk in spades. I could name more, but it'd be a pretty lengthy list.

Kingpin is better than any of the comic book villains in film, mostly because he is more developed, having been so meticulously fleshed out over the course of a TV season, while most film villains have little going for them except being a physical and sometimes philosophical counterpoint for the hero(es) over a two-hour period. I haven't seen enough comic book TV to compare beyond that, but Wilson Fisk has all the makings of a great villain; he's a threatening on-screen presence hiding a wealth of emotional depth and complex motivations.

Only in MCU alone. Joker, Reverse Flash, Merlyn, Deathstroke are all better villains. Kingpin just got weaker and weaker with every episode, he was never as threatening as he was in episode 3, which is problematic.

Also Kingpin stomps Loki, Loki was a great character but maybe the least threatening villain I've ever seen.

Edit: That said I do love Kingpin, I just love the 4 mentioned above more. He's still in my top 5 (although I fully expect Purple Man to surpass him in a few weeks, Captain Cold also is up there and could pass him with a strong Legends showing).

The title should be changed to: Is Kingpin the best villain in comic book live action so far?

To answer your question no he isn't because Heath Ledger as the Joker was the best so far.

Dark Knight Joker was cool looking and very engaging but I never saw him as a 3D person. He was like his comic counterpart: just a force of nature doing the most disturbing stuff he could cause: reasons. I mean I get that he's crazy but "dude is just suuuper crazy" for no real reason is a little boring.

MCU DD Kingpin is the kind of villain I really like - as well as DD being the kind of hero I really like. Not just some random weirdo in a costume that shows up "I am gonna destroy New York!!" (why? "Cause that's what villians do! Amirite??!!") He's a guy with a point of view who has a brutal method. DD also has fairly brutal methods, he just hasn't gone over the edge yet (and perhaps he might one day.. then who's the "bad guy" <<< see, complexity).

So I agree with OP as far as Kingpin being a fully formed human who just happens to butt heads with our hero, rather than a plot device that just comes out of nowhere fully bent on destruction just for the sake of it.

Both Netflix and movie Kingpin (Yes, movie Kingpin. Michael Clarke Duncan was PERFECT, screw anyone who says otherwise) are tied with Alfred Molina's Dr. Octopus for the best comic book movie supervillain of all time IMO.

I would definitely say (TV's) Kingpin is up there among the best.

I'd have to think, but probably top 10, definitely top 5 for me and the character isn't even done growing. He's not entirely 'The Kingpin' yet.

He's the best MCU villain, but not the best period.

Malcolm Merlyn

Joker

Zod

Reverse Flash

Magneto

And I'm sure I'm missing some, are all better.

Hell, I preferred the movie Daredevil Kingpin more, at least he didn't always looked confused or throw temper tantrums.

Michael Clarke Duncan was a much better kingpin then the one from mcu, unfortunately he was just in a bad movie.

Even if you just count marvel no I don't think he is the best villain so far.

The thing was that Marvel Studios didnt cared as much for Daredevil, so they allow a villain to have character development.

He is not the best, but sure he stomps all the poorly written MCU villains, that are pretty much every single villain they have.

Ra's was better than Malcolm IMO. Even though the writers and actors would not agree on how to pronounce his name lol.

Anyways, Zoom was pretty incredible last night, but I'll still go with Joker (Ledger's) for now. I'll never forget how creepy he was, and that prisoner's dilemma with the two boats was some of the better writing IMO in a Comic-based cinema.

I think he had the most opportunity to build his character, I really liked Reverse Flash from CWs show. Magneto would most likely be the best overall, because he has two actors who really portrayed the character well.

far from it, I say all 4 major villain from the DCCW verse we've seen so far were better, and the current 2 might continue the trend

and that's just tv

Hell naw.

CW's Eobard, Ra's, Slade, Merlyn, and Zoom are all better villains.

Zod is probably still my favorite villain in comic movies.

Even on Marvel's side, I'd say he still loses out to Loki.

Also... he isn't even in a movie. Title is misleading.

Fisk is great and by far the best villain in the mcu (I had to knock loki to #2, Fisk is just too good), however, being in a big budget show where the writers have more time to flesh out characters is an advantage movie characters do not have.

Lmfao at anything from the CW being better than anything from Daredevil Netflix. Everything from Daredevil is far superior to the crap CW shits out on weekly basis.

Joker (Heath Ledger)is hands down the best live action comic book villain imo. Deathstroke (Manu Bennett) is a close second. He portrayed Deathstroke perfectly, but unfortunately, the show didn't use him correctly.

@guru_crack: ---Ra's al Ghul (Arrow - Not the best season but a great villain)--- Arrow version of Ra's was shit. He wasn't menacing or scary. Both Merlin and Deathstroke were better.

Ultron--- The voice was completely menacing and bad-ass, but as a character he was pretty damn hollow.
