The Spiderman was the default icon after the reboot.

I will reach as far as I can about any topic of debate regarding my favorite characters, until I see irrefutable proof that I'm wrong.

If it's a subjective topic, you're a hater for disagreeing with me.

I don't think it's necessarily wrong, but I'm not that kind of fan myself. I don't like the close minded fanboy mentality.

#21 Posted by AssertingValor (5392 posts) - - Show Bio

Not really, that is what make debating fun. It's no fun when somebody gives up to easily but if your going to keep arguing a point you need to be logical and accept when you loose a point

#22 Posted by unBREAKable_Fs4 (1713 posts) - - Show Bio

It depends on your willingness to keep an open mind and if you can accept when your favorite character loses.

#23 Posted by marvel_boy2241 (2468 posts) - - Show Bio

Depends if you are blind to the truth or not.

#24 Posted by Jayc1324 (12201 posts) - - Show Bio

Not really as long as you're not TOO annoying with it. It can lead to some irrational debate and discussions but I consider all of that to be part of the fun

Meh, I'm a Jojo fanboy so I can't judge

JOJO's 4 Life

#26 Posted by reaverlation (15837 posts) - - Show Bio

Depends on how far you take it

#27 Posted by TheCheeseStabber (8096 posts) - - Show Bio

Only if you are for one of the following

  • Batman
  • Storm
  • Flash (Mostly Wally)
  • Pre 52 Wonder Woman
  • DeadPool (You know the Fans that read a few panels online and never a full comic)
#28 Posted by mikep12 (4142 posts) - - Show Bio

It depends. I can be a fanboy but I know when a character I like loses they loss and I don't respond with dumb comments.

We're all fanboys in a way, the good fans just know how to control it and look at things objectively while still debating.

;)

It's all in the timing. You've got to be able to switch the fanboy on and off, and at the right times.

Maybe it's just me but I don't like debating and arguing about characters. I like the characters I like because of certain storylines, creative teams or personality traits. Who the character can take in a fight is kinda the least interesting thing for me.

@timelordscience: Glad to know someone feels the same way. I was being goaded into a debate a few weeks ago and told the person pretty much the same thing. He shot me a look like I was crazy, shrugged his shoulders and with hesitation in his voice said "Well...you like what you like...I guess".

#46 Posted by JonSmith (3996 posts) - - Show Bio

It is not wrong to BE a fanboy. It is only wrong TO fanboy.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. Seeing whom wins isn't why I like a character, but it can be a fun past time.

Being a fan of a character and a boy is nothing to be ashamed about

#49 Posted by Cable_Extreme (9251 posts) - - Show Bio

It depends, there are two types of fanboys I encounter, the first is the one that is a die hard fanboy and argues with a certain mix of arrogance and ignorance that it just makes talking to them rather painful, it is a bad thing to be one of those. The second type is die hard fan that actually reads and is knowledgeable about their favorite character, which effectively gives them a lot more ammo to use than someone who has the "normal" amount of knowledge about the opposition, it is perfectly okay to be that.
