@greatcaesarsghost: I'm obviously referring to fiction. Unlimited strength still doesn't exist minus for omnipotents.

And it's still hyperbole.

When talking about beings that can hear the phrase 'Behold the Power of Cheese' and suddenly decide that 'cheese is now a fundamental force of the universe', strength starts to become a little less relevant.

In other words: Strength =/= Power

The real answer is ; Hulk haters always will come to Hulk topics and will say : ''Nay'' (classic)

While Hulk supporters can show proof for his unlimited strength, but still no matter what, Hulk haters are gonna deny it. Because they really hates him, and probably Hulk is the most hated character thanks to Superman & Wolverine fans.

Wolverine fans make this arguement..? Why when even base Hulk will win against Wolverine.

@tyger: Which is understandable, but strength is still a measure of power. Not sure what you were responding to in particular, though.

It aint unlimited. He gets stronger an' more powerful the madder he gets, but maybe there's a limit to how angry he gets. I dunno. But ye he needs time ta get angry. But if it was unlimited, he would probably be unbeatable.

@erkan12: None of those prove..or even suggest Hulk's strength is unlimited. We have a character saying it SEEMS that way. We have Thor asking a question, wondering if there's a limit. We have a scientist saying it's incalculable (much different than unlimited.) Even the Beyonder saying "no finite element" inside (the closest you'll get to unlimited) isn't unlimited.

@manwhohaseverything: How can you measure something incalculable or infinite then ? There is no way for it, you can only rely on trustworthy scientists and omnipotent being such as Beyonder.

@erkan12: yes, but what Im saying is none of them said it was unlimited/infinite. Incalculable means "can't be calculated"..not "infinite." It's why I said earlier his strength is "unmeasurable" but not infinite. I think @masterkungfu put it right. By definition, you can't reach infinity. Hence, why I think saying Hulk's strength is "unlimited" has to be hyperbole.

It is limitless. What means it grows without limit. I does NOT means his strength is infinite, but only that it TENDS to infinity.

I dont think it is obvious. Doc Samson measured his strength. The Leader and a scientist also measured his strength. They just did not find a limit. And dont forget the Beyonder scanning the Hulk's potential and deducing that Hulk's strength was limitless.

His strength is unlimited. He's a comic book character, he doesn't have to adhere to any type of logic.

Hyperbole. Logics over Assumptions. He has been in many Situations and this unlimited strength was not displayed.

When the year comes where Hulk finally does something to back it up.

Hyperbole.

Good question and one I think is best demonstrated by the whole WWH storyline. A great deal of the narrative is spent exploring the question of what are the upper limits of the hulks strength and what does it take to stop him when he begins to reach those upper limits. It took the sentry, another "limitless" character, to go toe to toe with him. As a narrative work in practice the hulks strength is limited only to the stressors placed upon him.

I always find it funny when people pit him against other "strong guy" types to see who is tougher. Usually a comedy of fans citing feats. My favorite is the old superman vs hulk thing. I imagine superman would win but not because of his strength but because it would take the boyscout all of five minutes to realize that the harder he fights him the angrier and stronger he gets and then realize that he simply needs to he nice friendly to him to win.

Using strength to take down the hulk is futile. Its built into his character. Trying g to act like it doesn't work like that is like acting like green lanterns rings aren't driven by will.

It may or may not be infinite, but his theoritical limit is high enough that it really shouldn't matter.

Yes Hulk does theoretically have unlimited strength, contingent on how mad he can get, so theoretically if he could get infinitely angry he could become infinitely strong.

But Bruce Banner, the man inside of him prevents this from even being possible, after a good rampage Hulk does turn back to Bruce Banner because his human side does calm him.

There's no reason to get mad over his theoretical unlimited strength, their are several character with potentially unlimited power who are not unstoppable, Omega mutants for example.

Hulk is not unbeatable, he has been defeated by the likes of Abomination and Thor along with slews of others.

It's worth noting vastly more powerful beings such as, Beyonder, Molecule man, Galactus and The Celestials have been defeated despite being "omnipotent" and seeing as Hulk is only strong enough to contend with God level characters it really shouldn't be an issue unless Hulk Is given unlimited anger.

In 50 years, the best Hulk has ever shown is World Breaker level. If he really has unlimited strength it won't matter, because it takes him a long ass time to get there.

Unlimited strength, no. Unlimited potential, yes. There is an infinite amount of numbers, but if you would start writing them down you would never have written down an infinite amount of numbers no matter for how many billions of years you do so. In the same way Hulks power allows him to always get angrier/stronger, but he will never actually have unlimited strength.

I think the greatest manifestation of Hulk's strength was lifting a mountain during Secret Wars. Which is impressive but certanly limited. He should be able to win a hand-to-hand fight against any mortal, though.

Hulk only increases physical strength but not the speed nor resistance. So a fast man wins. It is also clear that it is a metaphor when they say it is incalculable. If he had an endless physical strength should have infinite energy to support him and in this case Galactus could not quench his hunger? Damn it, if they want to increase sales, they are at the least, they must make more interesting and logical characters. Moreover Hulk with the anger increases physical strength, but there is a limit to anger. Guys ask the authors if they make us know if Hulk is limited to physical force?
