is batman a mean person.

I was watching batman begins with my niece, she doesn't read comics but she knows about some superheroes, and she said she doesn't like batman because he is mean. This kinda caught me off guard because I never thought of him to be a mean person, just serious lol

Like anyone, he has potential to be a jerk at times. His personality can probably be grating to some people who aren't used to it, which can cause friction which would make him more mean than normal, but no more than your average individual, I'd say.

i would describe him more as cold than mean

Not mean exactly but he is kind of a douche.

I wouldn't describe him as necessarily mean. I will just say when it comes to crime he is all about business and making sure innocents don't get hurt.

I wouldn't really say he's cold or mean all the time. What I will say is that he's cold and mean to his allies and family though. But not to normal people that he saves. For example if he saves a guy from a burning building he's not gonna be a jerk to him. Jim Gordon punched him in the face before because he was pissed off and batman did nothing because he understood. So he's really not a mean guy unless he's angry. A no nonsense guy is how I would describe him. When he told harper row to leave him alone it wasn't because he's mean, he just wanted her to he safe and doesn't have time for random kids messing with his stuff.

I think it really depends on who you are, what you mean to him and what is currently going on in his life. Like post-Death in the Family he was an absolute a**-hole to everyone in sight. He might be perceived as being a dick when he was on the JLA with newbee Kyle Rayner, but apparently he was only acting like that to push Rayner to be better and not end up like Jordan.
