Interested In The Guardians Movie But Not Read The Books? Heres Where To Start

With the Guardians of the Galaxy movie just a few months away I've seen a few people asking about where to start reading Marvel Cosmic or the Guardians, so I've decided to compile a list of all the comics that make up the modern Marvel Cosmic universe that inspired the movie. Not all these books have the Guardians as the main characters but but will have one or two of the members in them.

So the trades or comixology order you want to read them in is:

Impressive write up Jonny, I've never properly gotten into the Guardians of The Galaxy and don't know much about them. So this list is perfect if I or others in a similar position to myself want to dip into GoG reading. Thanks for the blog, this'll be very useful for future GoG fans on here.

@ccraft: @lvenger: Thanks duders, yea @daredevil21134 and @arturocalakayvee were asking me about Star-Lord and Guardians books so I was thinking that only more people will be asking about marvel Cosmic the closer we get to the movie so I decided to write this up.

Agreed! Everything by Abnett and Lanning are nothing short of excellent.

In case you wanna add as well, Rocket Raccoon: Tales from Half-world and Rocket Raccoon & Groot: The Complete Collection have a lot of good stuff in them.

Annihilation Omnibus came out recently. Get one before they are gone.

But the DnA Guardians is getting reissued in two volumes starting next month.

@jonny_anonymous: Yeah, for sure! I've already read a little bit of their run that tied in with some other stuff, and I've read a couple of the cosmic arcs. I've been meaning to do a full read through for a while.
