I never liked Shazam. The idea of a kid who becomes an adult superhero through saying "Shazam" just seemed like a cheap way to market to kids to me. So I'm absolutley fine, and even happy about it.
Ok I don't agree with Superman going all out evil like that even if he crossed the line like the comic.
Putting that aside. That scene make me think two comic geek questions.
1 CM is basically as or almost as powerful as SM. Why didn't he just break out of his grip and you expect me to believe CM couldn't break the ice easily?
2 If he said SHAZAM in space where would the bolt come from?

I thought this scene was awesome.
When I said space I meant far away from a planets sky where a lightning bolt would normally come from. He could be in a space ship it doesn't matter.
The Injustice story wasn't very good IMO. It wasn't very deep and everyone seemed one dimensional, it kind of ruined what the comic was leading up to.
Just from the clips I've seen I have to agree. Even if I don't believe Superman would go all dictator and force his rule the comic handled it much better.

1-That's what I thought would happen. I think they were trying to show us that when Superman goes all out, he's on a whole nether level.
2-Nowhere probably. They would show him turning off panel I bet, lol.
From a story standpoint, I liked the moment, it helped show that this Superman was really out of his mind, but my inner fanboy can't help to get a little bugged that Billy got killed so easily, especially since he's almost as powerful as Clark. Now, Superman would most definetly kick Billy's ass, despite him being vulnerable to magic Billy's still a kid, and this Superman in specific is incredibly ruthless, but Billy wouldn't go down without a fight.

It was a dumb moment to me. Captain Marvel didn't even left a finger to stop Superman. Captain Marvel can easily go toe to toe with Superman and even win.
This basically. Different writers and different versions of the characters have showed varying levels of capability, but a Superman so much more powerful than Captain Marvel is not unheard of. Issue 9 of Justice shows a totally bloodlusted, mind controlled, Captain Marvel assaulting Superman. Superman then proceeds to casually rock his socks while not even trying. That is an Elseworld's story, as is this, in the Main U, they are obviously much closer. Of course, weve never seen a Superman who was going all out before, such a being is probably quite intimidating.
I did think it was a good 'shock' death just because they where building sympathy for the character just prior to that. Yes its an Elseworld story and they almost seemed to want to hammer that home. That this is not the 'real' Superman by the multiple mentions of it being a different dimension, the quote at the beginning of the game, etc.
I think they did this because they where going to make him so evil and more so make this version of Superman irredeemable with just how easy it has come for him to kill off old Friends and such.
Multiple people kept saying this was just like the A Better World Episode of JLU. I disagree in that version Superman for whatever flaw was not as clear cut Evil as he was in this game. Lois calls him on the control and so forth and he seems angry she is but he doesn't immediately kill her for questioning him. Though they did plant that seed at the end when he threatens to kill Flash.
Shazam is close to Superman's level usually. Isn't Superman from the Regime slightly depowered after what Joker did? Wasn't that one of the explanations?
It reminded me a lot of Lord of the Flies, how they'd slowly turn evil and when Piggy died everyone was just silent like "what the hell just really happened here"
@jedixman: The only mention I recall In Game was when he touched the Kryptonite at the bottom of Batman's suitcase thingie. If this is in the Pre Game Comic I might have to look it up I don't recall that mentioned either. As Kryptonite would kill Superman if he was exposed long enough
