I've got a plan that I feel should be followed by each company as they have things currently laid out.
Marvel: Where they stand now is quite obvious and the path is easy to follow. But things still need to get done right. I'm going to list movies after the listed Ant-Man next August. Some spoilers within Captain America and Hulk movies for the new Winter Soldier film.
Dr. Strange: Needs to be a true introduction into the realm of magic in the Marvel Universe. Thor has touched on it, but they're Asgardians and meddle with technology and magic as one. Dr. Strange is involved with the deeper levels of sorcery, mysticism, and mythology across cultures. I'd also make the movie darker than the most recent films. His depressing backstory, his fall from grace as a surgeon, and his path to find himself through adventure and the discovery of his potential as a Sorcerer are all key story elements. Give him a minor villain as he steps into Sorcery. He meets with at least one member of the Avengers and tells them he'll be available if they should ever need him.
Iron Man 4: Make his armor start to become part of him and take away the problems he faced in IM3. Pepper should also have minor roles as a side-kick. But make this another story about discovering the larger universe and the Guardians before Thanos is brought in as the villain. Pepper and Rhodes might even need to take on more of a work load as he gets taken into space and gets lost/imprisoned/involved outside of Earth.
Thor 3: Thor must now contend with the full might of Loki on the throne. Things start to unravel as he must find Odin and he is forced to make allies on Asgard and the other realms. After breaking into Asgard and fighting old allies and every defense his brother can muster there is an epic showdown between the two. But Thor can't stop to worry about the consequences of his brother as he has discovered the allies and secrets of Thanos during his recent travels (Surtr maybe). Asgard begins to build an army and Thor reaches out to any friends he can. Odin makes it clear that he must enter the Odin sleep and leave the kingdom to Thor so that he can be rested for what is coming. He also tasks Thor with protecting the Tesseract (a confirmed Infinity Gem) in an attempt to stop or slow Thanos.
Captain America 3: Captain America pursues the Winter Soldier and walks in on HYDRA and their larger intents. He uses Quiksilver and Scarlet Witch to give him the necessary information. As he learns more about HYDRA learns about the rod in HYDRAS possession and whispers that have passed through HYDRA about a gathering storm. Captain America comes face to face with his past and must fight Baron Strucker with the Winter Soldier and Falcon. It is hinted that the Red Skull may not be dead and went through a similar ordeal as Captain America has over the last several decades.
New Hulk Movie: Hulk smash. But seriously Banner becomes more involved with the affairs of Earth and takes on the role of a pseudo-hero. He comes across unique gamma signatures and follows them to the Abomination and The Leader who are making a play for domination themselves. They are aware of the S.H.I.E.L.D.'s collapse and the focus on HYDRA and try to take advantage in a Hulk story kind of way. Hulk defeats both in an awe inspiring racing the clock manner using both Banner and the Hulk. Unfortunately for Banner his victory is short, he listens to the mumblings of The Leader talking about something coming (another reference to Thanos) and goes unconscious. Banner is then immediately kidnapped himself in a weakened state by Thunderbolt Ross and imprisoned in a special facility.
Avengers 3: The Avengers are fractured. Each knows something of a gathering danger but haven't pieced together the entire puzzle. Thor is gathering an army of Asgardians and doing everything possible to protect the tesseract (the final Infinity Gem). Thanos sees this but makes a play and fails. Thanos, however, is alerted to the presence of the rod Captain America has found and knows that Earth will present no threat to him and takes that Infinity Gem instead. Thor is angered that he was never told about this gem and gets into a fight with Captain America, when they call upon their friends only Black Widow, Ant Man, and Dr. Strange show. Disaster strikes as the sky begins to darken and reality seems to bend and warp. Widow, Cap, and Antman learn of Hulk's imprisonment and infiltrate Ross' facility to free him. They bring Banner up to speed but are still missing Iron Man. Thanos shows himself and challenges the Avengers and the battle begins. As things look badly for our heroes Iron Man and the Guardians show up as reinforcements. While they manage to seemingly damage Thanos he only laughs off their attempts. Sudden unknown help arrives from Black Panther and Wakanda, they begin to push him back only to have Thanos once again throw off all of the forces Earth can muster. As Thanos begins to make his final move a last ditch effort is thrown his way and Odin arrives to make his own addition and destroy the Infinity Gauntlet and bring Thanos crashing down, defeated and dead from the combined strength of the Avengers and their allies. Thanos' body is taken by the shadowy whispering form of Death and the Avengers are left looking at a ravaged Earth. They all separate and welcome new members to the Avengers that can take their place while they are busy including Black Panther.
Black Panther: A prequel/sequel. A time flash movie that unlocks the past of Black Panther and Wakanda with history and flashbacks while showing Black Panthers own current adventures. Not sure what the details themselves might be to fit the big screen epicness Marvel likes to bring out in their characters.
Dr. Strange 2: Dr. Strange is left in disarray after the battle with Thanos now realizing the might of some beings. He begins to recognize hints of Dormammu's return and questions whether he can be stopped so soon after Thanos' rampant destruction. Strange learns that his allies would be of no use and that Dormammu must be stopped by him alone, his master is now dying and cannot stop Dormammu. Strange does not believe in himself despite his rapidly growing powers as a sorcerer and is swiftly defeated by the incoming Dormammu. When all hope seems lost and Dormammu is at the gates of our realm Strange's master sacrifices himself to give Strange the time and determination he needs. Strange now has full confidence in himself after seeing what his master has given believing in him and battles Dormammu to the death. Strange narrowly survives and destroys Dormammu and locks the gateway behind him. Strange then takes on the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme.
That's all I can think of for Marvel as it stands (assuming X-Men and Fantastic Four remain outside their control).
DC:
Plots will be thinner because we really don't know what direction they are going as of yet.
Batman vs Superman: Introduction of several characters. Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman (maybe). Kind of the opposite of Marvel's approach where the heroes appear together (relatively) before they branch out.
Wonder Woman: Wonder Woman and the mysteries of Themyscira are revealed. She battles some ancient magic and cements her role as a citizen of Earth and not just Themyscira. The fight is not with just a God or sorcerer, it is with herself and her mother as she demands Themyscira become more involved with the world since fighting alongside Superman and Batman.
Cyborg: While a lesser known character I would love to see the "wider" DC universe revealed. STAR Labs making a premiere and being involved with the creation of Cyborg would be great and similar to S.H.I.E.L.D. in the world of DC. Cyborg also has to battle himself as much as an enemy (perhaps a mad scientist or an experiment gone wrong). Finally he must concede that what he has become is as much a blessing as a curse and sets off to make a difference.
Aquaman: Aquaman would be fun just to see the special effects of the ocean and the beauty of the seas. Aquaman would again be flashbacks to introduce his backstory and rise to being king of the oceans. Black Manta would be a great villain to bring the surface down to Atlantis and the politics Atlantis would endure as a result. Aquaman must battle with his opponents as well as the incoming surface world in an effort to prevent war. While Aquaman defeats the Black Manta and his political adversaries the latter is an incomplete victory leaving more enemies than he had to begin with.
Flash: The Flash lives in a world of superheroes with Batman and Superman on newstations in Central City. Crime has risen in Central City as villains and criminals move from Gotham and Metropolis to make a life outside the grip of superheroes. Central City citizens are bitter and angry as a result and superheroes hold their blame. As Barry Allen is taking on an excessive workload in the crime lab as a result of the influx of crime he makes a mistake in his lab that leaves him doused in caustic chemicals, as Barry frantically makes an effort to reach a wash station he is suddenly struck with lightning. Enter Flash. Barry recovers from a coma and discovers his new powers. As he is learning his powers one or two of his rogues take a deadly weapon and threaten Central City if they're not given what they ask for. Flash uses his powers to battle and defeat the rogues while disabling their weapon. Flash is hailed by the city and at the end a statue of him is erected in downtown to celebrate their new hero. Flash gets a mysterious jarbled call from someone at the end and is told to look to the sky before being disconnected. As he looks out the window he sees a darkening cloud, or a gathering of ships, etc. and he immediately begins towards it as fast as he can.
Justice League: The Justice League battle a threat from outside of Earth (perhaps a small force from Apokolips or some other invading force). Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, Flash, and Cyborg come together and fight the invading forces. They think they've won the fight after a crazy battle but are given demands to surrender afterwards by a larger ship that has appeared in the sky. After being given just 24 hours to surrender themselves (much like Man of Steel) they confer with each other on the right course of action. There's already been massive destruction and the people are reeling from the first battle. Batman and Superman argue with one another and Batman leaves to surrender himself to save lives and prevent further destruction, Superman can't believe they'll surrender and likens this to Zod's own invasion. Wonder Woman stands with Superman and feels like warriors should never surrender while Flash and Cyborg are left torn and confused because they don't want to give up but are aware of the cost this devastation has on average citizens. Aquaman finds them but reveals he has been cast out of Atlantis for doing so. Wonder Woman understands this and welcomes him into the Justice League while the others are hesitant but aware they can use every bit of help they can get. As time runs out the Justice League plans an attack. As the battle begins they use their own strengths to effectively complement one another during the fight and do everything they can to not only defeat the enemies, but defend people from collateral damage. As they come together it appears they are cornered by a ship that leaves some of them wounded. Unexpectedly it blows up and a glowing green orb comes towards them with Batman inside. Green Lantern is introduced and they turn their attention towards the command ship hovering in orbit. Batman and Superman reconcile and formulate a plan together. They throw themselves full force into the command ship and battle towards the commander using their powers and the knowledge Batman has gained of their ships. They separate but come together for the final battle. The commander is powerful and battles them down with only a combined effort and fantastic teamwork overpowering him, he is either captured or limps to an escape pod when killing him is removed as an option by Superman and/or Batman. The Justice League are celebrated by the people and at the end they go their separate ways with Aquaman letting them know he must retake his kingdom from his traitorous usurpers. Finally the watchtower can be seen in its beginning stages over Earth as a reminder that the Justice League are together will stand to protect Earth against any enemies.
Begin Stage 2.
Kind of long but I think the plots are important to keep the story plausible and in line with the comics. More than 11 too (14 really), but some of the titles are already "in works" like Dr. Strange, Thor 3, and Cap 3 I just wanted to build the plots that I would like to see them take.
