if they had some brainpower they would be dangerous...

A good portion of us here are comic fans, some of us go so far as to even be comic nerds.

Some of us know how to think outside the box. We have all had that moment when reading a comic where we said "Why did "X" not just do ..." or "If "X" was not an idiot he would be a beast"

So I decided to put some things together to see what the best of the minds her can come up with.

This is for both HEROES and VILLAINS.

What hero or villain could accomplish the most but is wasted because they use their power wrong, are an idiot, or simply do not know what they are doing.

Example:

Absorbing Man - If he had a scientific mind, and some better strategic thinking he would be a monster. I would just keep a ring of various metals on at all times. A vibranium ring, an adamantium ring, an urn ring, as well as one that has a sealed piece of the most highly radioactive substance I can get. I would just carry samples of things I would need on me.

Electro - Really, you have masterly of that level of electricity and you can beat Spiderman most of the time. If I had those powers I would own just about anyone. The brain works by electric impulses, it would not be that hard to shut down a brain or just plain puppet someone by electrically stimulating the muscles or neurons.

Graviton - Sorry but you better be able to fly if you plan to mess with someone like that. The first thing I would do would be to throw you off the planet or open a singularity in your brain if I just felt like killing you. Proof you can be book smart but not a great tactician.

Seriously. One of the most strategically brilliant men in comics feeds the revolving door of Arkham. With his mind, he could think of something to control them better. Spent tons of money developing ways to beat his friends if he needs to but can't keep the Joker locked up. He could take 15 million and make that Asylum inescapable.

This is a good question! So, in no particular order:

He's FINALLY starting to act like the genius he is.... But all these years inventing only web shooters and spider tracers... REALLY? Could he not long ago have:

1. Used pym particles to increase the volume within his web shooters so they never ran out?
2. Made a costume of something more durable than, say... COTTON? Maybe something BULLET PROOF?
3. He can do Wakandan Algebra on the fly during an explosion, so how about getting a PILOT'S license so you can fly the Avengers jet when needed?
4. Web shooters and bullet proof underwear for M.J.???
5. A minature cerebro that amplifies his spider sense ?
6. Why not a device like Brewster Gold has; skeets. An A.I. that keeps Spider-Man connected to the internet and computer resources when necessary..

He's a GENIUS dangit. ACT LIKE IT!

Doug Ramsey - Cypher

I said long, long ago, (yes, back in the 80s) that Doug Ramsey had the potential to become one of the most powerful super heroes in the world... I had a friend that laughed when I said that.

But Doug can UNDERSTAND ANY LANGUAGE.... Math is the ultimate language. Math is the language of the universe. As Galileo said, "If one wants to read the book fo the universe, they must first understand the language it is written in, and it is written in mathematics..."

So, what does this mean on a practical level? Doug has the potential to become an Engineer and Programmer WITHOUT EQUAL. There should be no system he could not hack into, and he should be able to solve about any engineering problem that can be described with math. He should be an engineer on the level of Tony Stark or Forge.

Now, add to this that he should be able to understand the language of Magic... He should completely "get it..." The potential is mind boggling, really.

Madison Jeffries - ha Flight (back when he was introduced) you'll see him building and wearing a robot that was like an Iron Man suit. But that was just for starters. He added to that robot suit (Bochs) in a matter of seconds and BECAME A SPACE SHIP! No, I'm not making that up...

He has a genius level I.Q. and "intuitive inventing" is one of his talents. He can invent machines, build them with a thought, talk to them, and control them.... How many super heroes and villains have abilities that are tech based. Why couldn't Madison surpass them all... Imagine if he and Cypher worked together....

Disagree with Juggernaut. Sure he has some low showings (anyone with as many appearances as he has does), but more often then not the guy is portrayed as a team wrecker.

Anyway, I'm surprised no one has said Sandman yet. I know if I could do what he can I would not be losing to Spider-Man.

The Wrecking Crew are also a good example. A whole team of +50 tonners that regularly get beat by street levelers. The Wreckers bio on this site even says his crowbar allows him to teleport, create forcefields & energy blast (admittedly all abilities I've never seen him do). These guys really should be beastly.
