I don't mean like Bucky becoming Captain America or Rhody becoming Iron Man, if ether Cap, Thor or Iron Man died who would be the next most iconic/respected/leader to take their place
DISCLAIMER: Iconic in canon, not what the fans think are most popular
If One Of The Avengers Prime Died Who Should Replace Him?
Well I don't really mean power or job wise but who do the people of the Marvel Universe look up to next after the Thor, Cap and Iron ManThor doesn't really have a replacement, unless you consider a mentally stable Sentry.
Iron Man? Maybe Pym, he was an original Avenger and a great Scientist.
Thor? maybe, Hercules, he is an acient warrior, immortal, and also he has been an Avenger a couple of times.
Captain America? I don't know, someone with a great sense of morality, and great leadership, Captain Mar-vell? Who knows?

for exampel if one of the DC Trinity died it would most likely be Green Lantern or Flash that would be the next in line.
@primepower53: Why Hawkeye?

In the Marvel Universe the only one of the Avengers Prime that has that acknowledgment is the Captain America, Thor is powerful, but nobdy call him to deal with threats, and Iron Man doesn't seem to be Cap's Equal in the Marvel Universe.

I just think he's a natural born leader, and one of the Avengers that's most "into" Avenging. He's one of the most iconic Avengers. Plus there's the fact that he's lead them before.
I think Iron Man does, I mean he ran the show during Civil War, sure the readers and half the heroes thought he was a douche but the public seen thought he was in the right@spiderbat87 said:

Not in the same way as the Cap, people like Iron Man in the marvel universe, but they LOVE the Cap, all those that have gone to the War, the Cap was with them in the war, Iron Man is different.
Black Panther, Ms. Marvel, and Pym I guess, maybe Hulk and Spiderman would be options as well, I hate to think they'd pick Wolverine but I can see them doing it, Possibly Sentry
So you don't think there is anybody?@spiderbat87 said:

I wouldn't say that. Alot of heroes look up to Spidey: Gravity, Pat Mulligan, and the Avengers Academy students for example.
Yea but it's not like the super hero community would come at his beck and call like they would Cap@spiderbat87 said:

Hercules is a good choice.

And What about Hank Pym? :D

He could easily challenge Tony for wits.
Cap would be the hardest to replace. It's hard to find someone with not only his leadership skills, but also has the symbolism he possesses. That being said, Black Panther would be a good choice because he knows a thing or two about being a leader and a symbol (at least in Wakanda). If not him, then Bucky. Is he a leader? No, but he most certainly could be a symbol. I mean, he was Cap's sidekick when he was still a propaganda tool during WWII. He knows what being a symbol means, and he was a damn good Cap when the situation called for it.
For Thor=Beta Ray Bill or Sentry
For Captain America= Black Panther or Mr. Fantastic
For Ironman= War Machine or Captain Dynamo
If one of the Big Three Avengers ever went down in battle, there would never be a way to truly fill that hero's shoes or replace him.
The dynamic would simply have to change, perhaps even to the point where the team would never recover.
That's how things work in reality; someone dies and can never, ever be replaced in the hearts and minds of people whom care making things never the same.
Well if Captain dies the only person that has the same morality as he does: Spi-der-man but I don't think he has the leadership skills, even though I would love to see how the marvel writers make him learn some.

Actually a while back he called the Avengers to fight against the Juggernaut and the Exemplars. Both Iron Man and Thor came to his aide so did Prof X.
Anyway back to the topic: I see either Black Panther, Hank Pym, Sentry (if he's mentally stable), The Thing, Ms Marvel, War Machine, Spider-man, perhaps Reed Richards
