Pretend there have been no Superman live action films. Forget that Man of Steel comes out next year. If you were a producer and/or director, if you could make a Superman movie trilogy, how would you do it. I'm not talking about actors, I'm talking about characters and plot. It'd be interesting to hear the general fan audience's opinions on how a Superman trilogy should work.

I am sorry to challenge the OP rather than contribute...but, why does every super hero film franchise have to be a trilogy? Comics have been ongoing for decades, they could likely adapt a ton of stories and character to fill five or six films. Things like the Nolan movies and Star Wars are trilogies because they have a story that begins and ends.

I think there would have to be at least five Superman films, starting with Luthor and the basics and eventually progressing to the New Gods

1st film origin that shows him growing up with Lex. Lex turns on him and brings Bizaro to fight Superman. 2nd film Darkseid invades with an army and Superman forms the JLA to battle him. 3rd Film. Doomsday!!! While away from Earth Doomsday destroys the JLA. Superman dies while killing him. 4th film. Resurrection' It would be like the books but I would focus on Cyborg Superman and instead of only having the 4 fake supermen I'd have it so that Superman is more like a brand or symbol in his death. Ppl of all walks of life + generic 'super men' are dressing as him and using his name for good and bad. The 4 main supermen will have to fight a huge 'war of the supermen' with the last 4 and the real deal having the final battle where sup gets his powers back and they kill cyborg.

A series especially based off a comic book should never be subjected to a trilogy. It narrows the content that is allowed into the films and makes it feel too rushed and compact. There shouldn't be a set number of films. If it's working and the quality is good, keep dishing them out.

Go bright and hopeful. Start with the actual origin, have Brainiac be the villain of the first movie. Make tie-ins to other heroes, like the Kents saying before Clark becomes a superhero that they'd hoped he'd follow the example of 'that fast guy in Keystone'. Make Brainiac's base a fortress in the arctic, where he keeps various artifacts and 'samples' from the civilizations he's destroyed, such as artifacts from Krypton. Brainiac gets destroyed via Superman throwing him into the sun-

Go away, you. Other people can throw guys into the sun too.

Cue credits. Have a corresponding scene in Green Lantern where the Green Lantern of Earth (whoever they went with), investigates a crime scene on Mars, the crime scene in question being nothing but a scarred husk of a city.

In the second Superman movie, have him be established, with the USA creating the Cadmus Project, under the lead of one Lex Luthor, to combat these superheroes. Superman has been using the Fortress Brainiac left in the arctic as a base. Have Supes start having violent nightmares , which when he goes under analysis from his supercomputers within the Fortress, he realizes is a telepathic distress signal. In Metropolis, have him get attacked by a metal android with a kryptonite heart, which weakens Superman enough for it to get a blood sample, after which it retreats. Superman finds Cadmus (plot), and finds the source of his telepathic problems, a green martian. Just as he releases it, he gets attacked by a flawed clone of himself. Fight fight fight. Superman wins. Martian helps. They chat. Martian warns Clark that other things were being made at Cadmus, worse things. Blah blah blah. Credits.

By this point, have the other heroes established and make the Justice League movie. Brainiac returns stronger than ever and creates drones to attack the superheroes one by one. Batman locates identical attacks and, using his detective skills, identifies the source as Superman's villain. He travels to Metropolis and confronts him, Superman not having identified the drone as connected to a larger threat. Batman presents evidence of the drones just being scouts, and implies they may need help to save the world. Superman remembers the Flash, Green Lantern, and the Martian, and intends to track them down. Have Wonder Woman already had spoken with Batman and Aquaman in her movie, and Bats contacts her, who contacts Aquaman, having all of them been attacked. They all get together just as Brainiac releases a world wide signal that shuts down worldwide communications, preventing any military from mobilizing against him, and begins to absorb the data from the world via thousands of drones. The newly formed Justice League fights the drones, and wins, traveling to Brainiac's new 'Watchtower' in space, where they beat him. Have Brainiac escape via glowing tube that opens in in midair with a loud booming sound, him saying he has allies in high places.

Credits.

For Superman three, cue Death of Superman/World's Finest. Lex has taken the Martian's shapeshifting DNA and fused with the Kryptonite genetics of Superman, creating a hyperadapting kryptonian creature he calls Doomsday. Superman dies, blah blah blah. Funeral, mourning, Batman and Wonder Woman team up to take down Doomsday, get beaten-

I-I mean... 'tactically retreat'. Batman (being Batman), heads to the Fortress of solitude, which he knew about (cause he's Batman), looking for weapons that might take down Doomsday, whose still rampaging throughout Metropolis, impossible to stop. Instead of a weapon, have Batman find a comatose Superman, who is functionally dead. His supercomputer stating he's slowly healing from the damage, and Batman returns to Metropolis alone to fight Doomsday and buy time for Superman to heal. Pulling out all the stops, Batman manages to drive Doomsday back momentarily, only for Doomsday to adapt and attack. Right before Batman gets butchered, Superman arrives in a black, solar powered outfit, and attacks Doomsday, beating him to a pulp, and forcing Doomsday to retreat to Cadmus. Batman and Superman work together and track it down, destroying the project, only for Amanda Waller to arrive and force them to retreat, lest they be branded criminals for attacking government property. Bats and Supes leave. Later, Bruce and Clark discuss how it isn't over. After credits, have Waller speaking to a Dr. Ivo, whose excited about his power replicating android. He calls it 'Amazo'.

I know, completely impossible. Way too much budget, time, and actor constraints to do anything close to something like these. And it's not really a trilogy. But screw it. I started thinking, and I'd like to see this done.

Does anyone really want to see him fight Lex again? It's superman vs a guy in a giant suit and maybe some robots. That's the biggest problem with sup, he's probably the most powerful hero yet his main rival is one of the weakest. I think they should focus on more powerful and more modern enemies this time around.

Bizarro could be a tragic villlian, still funny, but so twisted in his mind that he doesn't understand the massive harm he's causing. Then have Superman try to reveal that to the public but to add realism, they don't just immediately forgive Bizarro and Superman is forced to put him out of commission, both teaching him that he can't redeem everyone and cementing his issues with Lex.

@JonSmith: Sounds like that would work better as a DC Cinematic Universe

That'd be the idea. I figure if they're going to make a Superman movie, they've got to tie it in to a whole DC cinematic universe to match Marvel.

So the way I see a trilogy for Superman occuring is that all 3 films build on the idea of the world getting used to and accepting Superman and what he stands for while also showcasing the Man of Steel's own struggles in balancing two lives and essentially two jobs as he tries to figure out who Superman is and what he can and cannot do in society.

Film 1 -> Superman

Story: Origin (Jonathan Kent dies, Clark is urged by Martha to figure out the secrets of his ship but instead leaves to find his place in the world, scenes of world travel), arrives in Metropolis and gets a job at the Daily Planet, sees and tries to expose the cities corruption and strong criminal organization (Intergang) but his stories keep getting buried by the owner (Morgan Edge) of the Daily Planet and mayoral office (though Perry is on his side), decides to be more proactive and adopts a homemade costume based on images seen in his ship's database (nod to the Birthright origin), in his first public appearance he saves Lex Luthor from an Intergang hit squad (Lex not innocent though, having been supplying Intergang with weapons to bring down parts of the city so he could expand Lexcorps influence.....a nod to the Adventures of Lois and Clark series......but Intergang gets a new supplier and tries to eliminate him), during the save janitor Rudy Jones is exposed to a number of chemicals in the Lexcorp labs and becomes Parasite (when he's taken to the hospital his powers emerge as he kills a number of hospital workers via simple touch, his actions seen by one of Intergangs informants), seeing his organization being taken apart Bruno Manheim has Parasite found and offers him a deal of fresh bodies for taking care of Superman, Parasite goes on a rampage to draw the Man of Steel out, epic fight scene, Bruno Manheim and most of Intergang arrested and Morgan Edge replaced as the owner of the Daily Planet. Film ends with Lex Luthor being contacted by two people. One is a scientist of Lexcorp telling him about a green meteorite an excavation team discovered, and the other is General Sam Lane to talk with him about the "threat of Superman".

Big concept items: No Fortress of Solitude as Clark hasn't fully embraced his Kryptonian heritage yet, costume is homemade by Clark and Martha based on images of the House of El in a database terminal in Clark's ship

Film 2 -> Superman: Man of Steel

Story: Set almost immediately after the first, Superman's actions have drawn the attention of the US military, who begin working with Lex Luthor to develop a way to neutralize and contain him. Lexcorp develops two prototype projects. The first is harnessing the radioactive energies of the green meteorite to enhance new ballistic weaponry (in the same vein as a rail gun). The second is the creation of a battle armor codenamed Metallo that the military plans on having Captain John Corbin be the first user. Meanwhile, in Metropolis a new serial killer is loose, calling himself the Toyman. He takes a number of children hostage, threatening to blowup the building they are in if the police try a rescue. Clark arrives on the scene as Superman and attempts to handle the situation but Toyman blows the building, scattering body parts of the supposed children (in reality neither the Toyman or children are in the building and the body parts are from the adults Toyman killed to get the children). The media is quick to blame Superman due to his vigilante status, and this allows General Lane and the military to bring him in for questioning. Superman goes quietly, not yet realizing he'd been tricked by Toyman, but when the military starts to "question" him they in fact want to simply imprison and experiment on him. Superman escapes and the two Lexcorp projects are activated to stop him. To everyone's surprise the green meteorite has a great effect on Superman and as a result allows Corbin the opportunity to stand toe to toe with him in the Metallo armor. Superman is forced to flee the battle, badly hurt and still reeling from the radiation of the green meteorite. Meanwhile Lois discovers Toyman is still alive and tries to convince her father to back off of Superman. Instead he has the meteorite team keep tracking Superman while Corbin goes to get Toyman. Can't really think of how to finish this off but during the final confrontation Corbin is nearly blown to bits by Toyman during a second battle with Superman, Superman saves the kids and captures Toyman, the military withdraws its pursuit but Superman's image is still in question within Metropolis.

Big concept items: Kryptonite introduced, Lex begins working against Superman but does not directly oppose him, dark second act of the trilogy

Film 3 -> Superman: Last Son of Krypton

Story: Set a year or two after Man of Steel, Superman is still not greatly trusted by the public and as such has been seen less and less. Clark and Lois have started dating and begin talking about moving in together and getting engaged (don't worry, doesn't actually happen in this film). Happy and yet not feeling complete, Clark travels to Smallville and starts truly going over his ship, learning of the building materials stored within it and programming designed to create a Kryptonian structure for his use. He takes the ship to the Artic and activates the protocols, creating the Fortress of Solitude. Through the holographic interface and the buildings memory banks he finally learns of his home planet, his family, and the final days of Krypton. A part of the Fortresses creation included terminals to access the Phantom Zone. Out of curiosity Clark uses them and through his inexperiences unleashes Zod, Ursa, and Non (though they arrive in another location of Earth rather than in the Fortress). Chaos ensues, Lex becomes very vocal that Superman heralded an alien invasion, Clark finally tells Lois he's Superman, Clark get's a kryptonian-based version of his costume, Metallo returns, yada yada yada, in the end Zod, Ursa, and Non are returned to the Phantom Zone and Superman is finally seen as a true hero by not just Metropolis but the entire world.

Big concept items: Fortress of Solitude created, Krypton's history in the movie universe revealed, the Superman costume is redone loosely based on kryptonian military guild armor but with the standard House of El colors, Lois learns Clark is Superman, Lois is attracted to Clark and wants to be with him vice the usual movie idea of her falling only for Superman and dismissing Clark.

I think we need to see Brainiac on screen. It just has to happen and any decent storyline with him is gonna be worth it.

In short:

  1. Superman: Birthright meets Superman: TAS. Brainiac and Lex Luthor. Small, small cameos by Bizarro and Superboy as attempts made to clone Superman. Maybe even Metallo as Brainiac's puppet like in Morrison's Action Comics.
  2. Zod and the Phantom Zone. Maybe Supergirl. Superman learns that he isn't the only Kryptonian out there.
  3. Darkseid and the return of Brainiac. I'd like the ending of the trilogy be very All-Star Superman.

Man From Krypton

Villains - Parasite & Lex Luthor

Lex Luthor imagines a world where people can grow old, yet retain all the vitality of their youth. LexCorps begins to make breakthroughs on a "cure", but at a price - unethical human experimentation. Rudy Jones, an ex-employee at the Daily Planet, is one of the human subjects. An experiment goes sour, Rudy is transformed into a deformed powerhouse and wants Luthor's head. Clark Kent wanting a normal life has kept his heroics a secret, not knowing how the world at large would react to a Superman. With Parasite creating chaos in Metropolis, Clark must choose between a normal life or unveil Superman to bring peace and order to Metropolis.

The World's Mightiest

Villains - Parasite, Captain Marvel & Lex Luthor

Both Lex and LexCorps have come under scrutiny and are receiving backlash from the people. Lex Luthor is no longer the "people's savior", and blames Superman for everything that has happened. Clark Kent is having trouble juggling his "normal" life, crime fighting and keeping a suspicious Lois Lane off his back. Even Supermen needs a break every once in awhile. Parasite makes a comeback, but is stopped by a new hero in town, Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel befriends Lex Luthor. Friction with Superman begin, and Luthor's schemes are set in motion.

Superman

Villains - Lex Luthor & Bizarro

Lex creates a clone of Superman.

I'm sure I'd change a few things up, but this is my trilogy for now. I would like to get into the love triangle between Lois, Clark and Superman in the films also.

Interesting idea...

1. Superman

-Villain(s): Lex Luthor, Toyman

-An origin story that includes his journey from Smallvile to Metropolis, utilizing flashbacks to show his upbringing on the Kent farm. The journey will be similar to the "Grounded", but it will be before he's Superman so it instead acts as fuel for his reasoning in becoming a hero. Once there Clark will hear about Lex and his humanitarian work, seeing the man as the best humanity can offer and encourages him to root out injustice as a news journalist. Lex Luthor turns out to be developing a small personal army of military-grade robotic drones, developed by an unbalanced man nicknamed "The Toyman". We get to see a glimpse of how Lex would try to change the world for what he sees as better, but the Toyman instead decides to use the drones for his own entertainment and unleashes them on Metropolis.

-Clark of course has to save the day, putting a stop to Toyman and his various military drones as Superman before revealing Lex's plans to the world as Clark Kent. I'd try to make Lex look like he is genuinely out to try and change the world in his own way, but after the surprise appearance of Superman he gives that up to begin his crusade against the new hero.

2. The Man of Steel

-Villain(s): Lex Luthor, Zod

-Now an established hero in Metropolis, Superman begins to see the complications of living his dual-life and starts to struggle in balancing his two identities while figuring out which life is better for him. All the while Lex Luthor has spent his time trying to undermine Superman at any cost. Zod appears and begins his attack on Earth, eventually meeting a Superman that intends to stop his rampage and reveals to the world that the Man of Steel is an alien from another planet called Krypton. This is just what Lex needs to change the public's opinion, hosting a press conference to say that not only does this prove Superman is a dangerous being, but that he'll do whatever it takes to take out both Superman and Zod.

-Now Superman has to deal with the growing hatred of the people while trying to protect them from Zod, while Lex begins formulating a substance that will only affect those with their alien physiology. His genius creates an object code-named KRYPTONITE. Eventually Superman defeats Zod and escapes Lex's kryptonite (although Zod dies from it), but by the end of the film he's beginning to grow distant from the people that now fear him.

3. The Man of Tomorrow

-Villain(s): Lex Luthor, Metallo

-Superman has been missing for a year ever since the fight with Zod, and Clark Kent is just trying to serve the people as a simple reporter while finally starting a romantic relationship with Lois Lane. Meanwhile Lex Luthor has become the president of the United States, rallying people around him as the man who defeated "Earth's greatest threat" to gain support and power in his revitalized quest to change the world. His company begins developing their own "men of steel" project by putting patriotic men like John Corben through hellish experiments and surgeries to make them into cybernetic super-soldiers. These men are told that it is all in the name of national security, since tensions in the world are growing over dwindling resources. Lex hopes to incite a war with China, knowing that his super-advanced technology would make him victorious, so he uses a fake terrorist attack to make the public favor war with the Chinese.

-Eventually the conflict reaches the point of imminent war, and just at things get hot Superman once more dons the cape to try and save the world from getting drawn into a world war. He has to fight Metallo, a cybernetic abomination created because of Lex's dreams of conquest and a sign of how monstrous Lex really is, and the rest of the metal men before putting an end to the conflict and finally showing everyone that he isn't such a bad guy. Lois helps uncover the truth behind the fake terrorist attack and Lex is having a personal face-off with Superman, who talks with him before law enforcement finally arrives and takes Lex to jail. He is impeached and sentenced to life in prison, and Superman once more serves Metropolis as its protector.

Been done before but...here we anyways.

This is how I would do a Superman movie.

Man of Steel: The villain would be General Zod. The person behind the scenes though would be Brainiac. Brainiac has come to Earth to take it over as he has done previously to other planets. This Brainiac, however, does not have a body yet. He uses the citizens of the bottle city of Kandor as his personal army. If they do not comply, Brainiac will simply destroy there city. That's how Brainiac has been taking over worlds. He uses Kryptonians to take over the world then comes after them and steals the planet's technology and information. Now Brainiac has his sights on Metropolis, the world's shining city. Not knowing that another Kryptonian lives in Metropolis, Brainiac sends two novice warriors to the city. The two are easily subdoed by Superman, who reveals himself as Kal El. With this knowledge, Zod is sent to take on Superman and get revenge of the son of his jailer (you see, the phantom zone was a prison on Kandor). So Zod and Kal duke it out and Superman wins by hair. Brainiac transports Zod and the others back and waits for another time to attack.

Man of Tomorrow: During the fight between the Kryptonians, their blood has been secretly taken and experimented on. S.T.A.R Labs, and their top scientist Emil Hamilton have been trying their best to create their own super army. Unbeknownst, to him, a secret faction of S.T.A.R Labs, aka Cadmus are already years ahead in the cloning project. After multiple tries they have finally cloned Superman. This will be eventually be Connor Kent. But the main villain in this movie is Bizarro. Bizarro is "accidently" let loose on the city of Metropolis. At first, Bizarro looks and acts exactly like Superman but eventually the cells break down and eventually become the Bizarro we all know. The fight takes place all over the Metropolis and eventually ends up in the South Pole. There Superman drives Bizarro deep within ice and encases him there away from the sun. He eventually builds his Fortress of Solitude over it to keeps an eye on him at all times. After the battle of the Supermen, S.T.A.R Labs is blamed for the incident and gets shut down leading the way for the rise of Cadmus Labs. And who's in charge of Cadmus Labs, none other than the great Lex Luthor.

Red Son: The main vilain is Brainiac. Brainiac and Lex Luthor have been communicating with each other for a while now. Brainiac is using Lex to get a foothold in Metropolis while Lex is using Brainiac to get to his advance technology. Together, they both have been making it hard to Superman to feel needed. Metropolis is now a real shining city. The most technologically advanced city in the world. Luthor drones fly about the city making the need for a Superman almost non-existent. Just when Superman thought about retiring, Brainiac makes his move. By taking control of Cadmus Lab's satellites, he positions them in a way to create a shield between the sun and most of the Earth. All the satellites do their thing and somehow converts the sun yellow rays into red sunlight. At first, Superman doesn't notice anything different but after a week he feels himself losing his powers. Brainiac then takes over the Luthor drones and goes about attacking Metropolis. With Superman weakened he is eventually defeated and left in the street for the whole world to see. Metropolis now cries out for a new hero. This is where Lex makes his move. In steps Cadmus Lab and their new weapon, Superboy. Since he's only half Kryptonian, he's not affected by the red sunlight. He still has access to his Kryptonian powers as well as his Tactile TK. Superboy is winning the day when we see Brainiac plays his trump card. A full formed Brainiac. My version of Brainiac will look simiar to Cyborg Superman. Since Brainiac had access to Cadmus Lab as well, he also had access to Superman's DNA. Add that and his future tech, ala Cyborg Superman. Cyborg Superman takes on Superboy and easily tosses around Superboy. Seeing Superboy, his most prized creation being beaten, Lex does something he thought he would never do. Something Brainiac never calculated either, Lex helps Superman. Lex hacks the satellites again and removes the satellites from orbit returning the red sunlight back to yellow. With his strength returning, Superman rejoins the fight. Superman and Superboy eventually defeats Cyborg Superman and Brainiac's consciousness returns back to his floating base. Looking up in the sky, Superman sees that although Lex moves the satellites to restore his powers, he also sent them crashing down to Earth specifically Metropolis. Superman and Superboy both fly up in the sky and safely dispose of the falling satellites. That is where Lex made his trump card move. Lex put a silent program into Brainiac just in case something like this would happen and when Brainiac left Cyborg Superman, instead of going back to his floating base, Brainiac was sent into one of the falling satellites. Cadmus Labs retrieves that specific satellite and now Lex holds Brainiac prisoner. Superman goes up into space and finds Brainiac ship and brings everything back to his Fortress of Solitude. Now we see his Fortress (similar to JLA cartoon) with all the zoos and artifacts, etc.... This explains where Superman got all those stuff. And in the middle of the main room, we see the bottle city of Kandor and next to it what appears to be a Motherbox that suddenly lights up and turns on. Elsewhere, we see Darkseid looking through what appears to be Boomtube looking down on Metropolis. Desaad, next to him says, "See how they worship the Kryptonian, my lord. They will not be so easily decieved." Darkseid replys, "Hmmm. There's no need to deception. They worship a savior that brings them joy. But when I bring their savior to his knees, they will worship me because of fear. For I am the Omega." (eyes light up)

I really like all the ideas in this thread, some great stuff.

I have never seen any of the Superman films. And I have only seen the Man of Steel teaser.

Here is my trilogy:

Movie 1: Son of Krypton

I like the humble origin story they are planning for the movie that is coming out. So I would go with that. Make Superman more of a rising hero who struggles to find his place. He would be a Senior year College Drop out, who had everything going for him, 4.0 grades, Eagle Scout, all star player at school, but always felt that he was not part of this world.

I would have the enemy not be Luthor, but rather General Zod. However Zod would not be a villian in the beginning, rather he would try to convince Superman to join him. Zod would try to woo Superman to him by explaining to him where he really came from, and that Zod and the others are true family. Zod would show Superman the true potential of his powers. Hank will be celebrated as a hero and Lex Corp will be hailed for helping bring down the "evil" Superman. Clark faces a trial with courage, but everyone is bough off by Luthor. Clark goes to jail.

While Clark is in jail, the objects that were in the Solar System arrive. Luthor is confident that they have prepared for it, and sends Hank against the invaders. It is revealed that Brainiac was leading an attack force to Metropolis, in an effort in tracking down the true Superman and killing him.

Hank defeats much of Brainiacs attack force, but is utterly destroyed by Brainiac in a humiliating one on one fight.

Brainiac takes over the city, taking control over Lex Corp's advanced technology. Brainiac goes to war against the US government, and destroys the National Guard sent to defeat him. Brainiac demands that the true Superman be brought to him or the whole city will be destroyed. The US government complies, and Superman is brought to Brainiac, and made to kneel before him.

As Superman bows to Brainiac, the Humans remove the Kryptonite shackles thinking Brainiac has everything under control. Much to Brainiac's anger, Superman rises to his feet and attacks, now freed of the Kryptonite. Superman defeats the Lex Corp soldiers and national Guard, and Brainiac's machine warriors. He uses his computer and it is revealed that he is dying from his wound, which is revealed to have been created by Kryptonite nanites that were injected into him by Brainiac. It is revealed that these are actually created from Kryptonite. The only cure is to have the nanites removed and that the process would leave him in a weak state for months. Movie 3: Superman

The movie begins with a shot of Superman in the pod. Over the sound of his breathing we overhear radio broadcasts declaring that the world has fallen to Brainiac and Luthor, who have obviously made an alliance. Only Gotham, Star City, and a few other cities remain war zones not yet claimed by Brainiac.

In Metropolis, Lois Lane (who was heavily involved in the previous film) and Jimmy Olsen, along with a few other faces, are dishing out soup to survivors, as Brainiac's Soldiers and Lex Corp guards oversee everything. Suddenly there is commotion, and a man is killed in front of his family by a Lex Corp guard. Lois tries to save the man. Lois is arrested, and almost killed, but Luthor prevents this. Luthor takes Lois to his penthouse and explains that the strong must adapt to survive and that is why he turned against the human race. Lois states that she wishes Superman would return, and Luthor says the same, much to Lois' surprise.

Meanwhile, John and Martha Kent are shown as captives and led through the streets. A whole bunch of dialog takes place explaining the state of things. You hear rumors of other heroes fighting against Brainiac, such as a masked man from Star city, a caped man from Gotham, a Princess, and some guy with a fancy ring, and so forth. The captives argue about these rumors. They are brought before Brainiac, who explains they are to be executed as an annual sacrifice to remind the people who they now serve. Several captives are brought before Brainiac and they are killed, turning them into robotic husks that in turn serve him. John Kent is brought forward, Martha cries out as Brainiac goes to kill him.

A shot goes to Superman's eyes opening, and then back to Brainiac. Suddenly a red streak of light shoots through the city. And Brainiac is slammed backwards, crashing through Lex Corp tower, and the huge symbol that represents the alliance between Luthor and Brainiac.

Superman and Brainiac fight. Superman decimates Brainiac's mechanical forces, and after an epic and dramatic battle, Superman saves Lois and destroys Brainiac, the same way Brainiac destroyed Hank.

Just as Brainiac is defeated, Luthor arrives. He reveals that he has been waiting for Superman to arrive and defeat Brainiac, so that he could seize power for himself. Suddenly armor explodes forth from Luthor and his anti-Superman armor is shown. He and Superman fight. Superman puts up a great fight, but Luthor's suit was built with Brainiac's technology and focuses Kryptonite energy. Luthor is about to once and for all kill Superman, and removes his helmet, turns off the Kryptonite projector and mocks Superman about how a mere man has finally brought the Man of Steel down, when suddenly John Kent smashes a rifle butt against Luthor's head. Luthor is dazed, and Superman is able destroy Luthor's armour with little effort, and knocks Luthor out.

Luthor is sent to Gotham where he will be incarcerated in the military prison wing at Arkham Asylum, to await a trial for treason and crimes against humanity. Superman is seen helping rebuild Metropolis. As Clark, he reunites with Lois, and asks her to marry him. Everything is set right. And the world begins to recover. Credits.

At the end of the third movie, there is a scene where Superman, who is restoring the Fortress of Solitude meets Batman. Batman reveals that it was him who put Superman in the pod. Batman will reveal that Brainiac was not the only threat. That there is another, Darkseid, who has much greater plans for enslaving the world. Batman also reveals that he has plans to gather the world's superheroes and wants Superman to join.

Something pretty similar to how Superman TAS began. The first 'arc' was separated into three parts: the first dealth with Krypton's destruction, the second with Clark in Smallville, and the third with Clark in Metropolis. But I'd think that movie goers won't be willing to wait for three whole movies before seeing Superman finally appear.

I definitely would like to see Krypton get a longer screen time.
