Who has an iconic costume? Should Iconic costumes ever be up dated? Should they ever be scrapped for a whole new look? What changes to an iconic costume were to much? Is there even such a thing as a iconic costume? Does Batman need to have a cowl with ears? Does Superman need to have a cape? Should Wonder Woman not wear pants? What's your thoughts on the subject?

Iconic costumes are the ones that are the most memorable and stick the best.

Spider-Man has the most iconic costume out of all the characters I know of, it's gotten the least permanent changes despite all the variations.

some updates are acceptable....Batman losing the briefs doesn't bother me since it doesn't really change the aesthetics of his costume to much....but imo Superman's costume change was for the worst...to much blue

Ock changing the Spider-man suit makes sense for the storyline since he's technically a different character

my biggest costume change grief has been Red Robin's New 52 suit...one of the reasons that he updated his suit to the red and black One Year Later suit was because he wanted to be taken more seriously and it worked but I feel adding the cowl with the Pre52 Red Robin suit really added more seriousness to the suit and then adding the gauntlets brought it more inline with the rest of the Batfamily suits at the time....the new suit is just plain ridiculous looking

This. Spidey's red/blue look is probably the most iconic

The most iconic characters have the most iconic costumes. That's why it's hard for both fans and the general public to accept changes to them.

I think some slight changes have been attempted but nothing has ever stuck.

Can't beat that original Kirby design.
