Or is it too early to say because Agents is only 6 episodes in?
P.S. Agent Ward and Fitz- Simmons are written well enough.

I actually wouldn't blame Whedon too much. He only directed and wrote the pilot.
His involvement with the series is actually very little. He serves as the EP, but he isn't involved as much as he was on previous shows like Firefly or Buffy.
He's too busy making movies.
Show is pretty bad though, imo.
The show is terrible, but Whedon only wrote the pilot. The only thing he's involved in with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is overlooking the Marvel Cinematic Universe (he get's to see things early, scripts, cuts, etc).
The only thing I blame him for - which pretty much plays into most of the show, is how he let these castings get out of hand. Everyone besides Clark Gregg and MAYBE Ming-Na Wen are just terrible. Chloe Bennett isn't even hot. She's the "Thea" of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
@cameron83: Whedon gets too much credit. Feige is the mastermind behind the MCU.

It's not great yet, but it isn't terrible. They want to do a "non-superhero" show in the superhero universe, but there's enough spy action/dramas out there. They should bring in some easy to adapt to TV heroes and I think it'd get a lot better.

Amen mate, The show is frustrating as it seems to be purposely avoiding the many supers that inhabit the Marvel Universe, It is playing uber safe with itself and is looking VERY VANILLA BLAND because of it. IT is a Marvel show but with no...Marvel.
I am honestly happy that I jumped off at episode 3, but I am frustrated by the shows unwillingness to embrace the world that is is set in, the vibrant world that is the Marvel Universe...
P.S - For the record I am still annoyed that the black guy in the pilot episode was not Luke Cage
I think Whedon is more focused on Avengers 2 and his own stuff to worry about AOS. I figured the studios goarded him into it to cash in on their individual films.
I thought it stumbled out of the gate but the last few episodes have been good. I think this is a show that will grow and get better week after week.
Also I think many people had unrealistic expectations for the show.
This and also Joss only wrote the pilot his brother Jed is the one you guys should be bashing but its whatever Defenders package is coming in 2015 so who cares
Joss Whedon failed because he continued to let the shitfest go on and he supervises the show. I just watched the last episode, it's decent, shitty effects and all.
I don't blame Whedon. I blame all the Disney Producers.... Making a Marvel TV show with no Marvel characters.... They didn't make this show for Marvel Comic fans. They made it for all the millions of people who don't read comics, and saw the Avengers. I might start watching it once Victoria Hand shows up.
I'm actually liking this show. I will admit that the first few episodes were a little slow, but the last two episodes were pretty good. I hope that we do see more Marvel characters appear in this show.
@rabbitearsblog: Everyone is a Marvel character.

Oh I meant the Marvel characters out of the comics (even though Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Gravitron showed up in this show so far).
@jeanralphio: impossible? I knew he failed the moment he and Fiege were ok with not giving Pym credit for creating Ultron
JeanRalphio on ComicVine doesn't like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. so Whedon has failed?
Where's your show? Where's your vision for a televised Marvel Universe that links into Marvel movies? Nowhere!
If you don't like it, fine!
But saying "he failed!" well, maybe you should stop sitting on your head, as you seem to have wedged it into your buttocks!

Honestly if Alien Resurection and Agents of Shield are the only thing most people notice wrong with what Joss Whedon creates I don't know what to say.
I lost interest halfway through the second episode. Didn't like Arrow or Smallville either. Overall, I don't think mainstream comics translate well on tv.
I agree with this. Smallville was stupid and Arrow is REALLY cheesy. I see people calling it "dark", and im like what episodes have they watched? The first Deathstroke reminds me of Bane from Batman and Robin.
I'd much rather just watch Buffy and Angel over and over again, honestly. My favorite shows ever. Nothing's gonna recapture that magic for me. Not even the next Avengers flick.
