If you were making a superhero team of seven people what roles would you include (e.g. magic expert, master tactician etc.), why and which superheroes would you choose to fill those roles? For mine I would have:

  • Magic Expert (in case the team face a magical enemy)-Doctor Strange
  • Powerhouse (if the team faces an enemy that is difficult to hurt or the team need to smash through something)-Superman
  • Technology expert (in case they face a technology based enemy or need to hack a computer)-Iron man
  • Master Tactician (to think of strategies for the team when in the thick of battle)-Batman
  • Natural leader (to lead and guide the team)-Captain America
  • Speedster (to scout the enemy base, to go for help if needed or to reach something like a stolen item or an item important to the enemy or someone kidnapped)-Flash
  • Psychic (in case the face an enemy with psychic powers)-Jean Grey

Six Member team.

Leader and Tactician : Sinestro (natural leader and warrior, and will do what it takes to win)

Powerhouses: Super-Skrull, Iron Man, and Hulk (they're all powerful in their own right and a wildcard like Hulk is always a good thing)

Females: Sue Storm and Wonder Woman (got to be female friendly and the public always likes to see strong women)

Misc: Flash (he's just too cool not have on your team)

If I was a comic book writer designing a new super hero team I would want the following:

In the "Top 3" I want a Meta Hero, a Gadget Hero, and a Magic Hero

(ie. Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman or Captain America, Ironman, and Thor)

I want the leader leader to be a gadget hero. These types of heroes usually are tacticians having no powers to rely on and command the team well. I also want to keep a moderate boy to girl ratio on the team. It seems good to have someone green on your team as well. You also want more than one Gadget Hero to help keep the team grounded and for times when some or all other members loose their powers. It's also fun to have someone to make wise cracks on the team.

Leader(s):

1. Batman

2. Captain America

3. Wonder Woman

Archer(s):

4. Hawkeye

5. Red Arrow

Stealth:

6. Miss Martian

7. Black Widow

Power house(s):

8. Superboy

9. She Hulk

Comic Relief:

10. Spider-Man

11. Flash

Aquatic:

12. Aqualad

Robot:

13. The Vision

Jack of All Trades:

14. Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)

15. Superman

I know that's way more than 7 but I think it's a really well built team.

It could be anything to be honest. Though the most important member should be a smart person like Rich Richards or Beast. They are walking plot devices and makes stories more interesting.

Leders:

Wolverine and Batman

Powerhouse:

Wolverine and Batman

Funny guy:

Hal Jordan. (NOT ALLEN SCOTT)

Da Chicks:

I don't know...Wonder Woman...I guess....

Depends on the type of stories that I plan on writing. I think I'd mostly pick characters who fill more than one of these rolls. For instance I'd use a smart version of Hulk and a stronger version of Beast. I'd love to see a all smart team of Banner,Stark,Beast,Pym,Richards and Panther. They'd be able to solve any problem and would have a lot in common but would also have tension between them over who is the smartest. If I'm just picking favourites or an all powerful team then it's a whole different story.

The main thing I'd do is keep the villains in proportion to the hero team. If I was going to do galactic space adventures fighting cosmic forces, the heroes would all be Superman/Thor/GL types. That team would have no batman/Daredevil/Captain America types. (Reason I don't read the JLA, just don't think Batman belongs with them) If it was street level/lower powered types, fighting organized crime and maniacs, that team would have no Thor's in it. No heroes that could win with little to no effort.

I'd allow TOAA.

#9 Posted by wrestlgurl (21 posts) - - Show Bio

The three Icons:

1.Superman(Powerhouse)

2.Batman(Brains)

3.Captain America(Combat Leader)

The specialists:

4.Flash(Speed)

5.Spider-Man(Stealth,Speed,Spider-Sense)

6.Iron Man(Tech)

The problem child:

7.Wolverine

(I would go with an 8th member)

Sex appeal for the fan boys, and powerhouse:

8.Ms. Marvel

Now that's a team. If I am a writer, I don't want anyone with too much magic or psychic abilities, therefore the team can be assaulted by enemies with these abilities. After the series got going, might replace some of the big names with other characters.

None. Just insert a big villain and heroes will group up themselves :)

I've always thought a street level all star team would be cool. Something like

Batman

Daredevil

Punisher

Moon Knight

Spider Man

Seeing Batman/Daredevil interact and see how they use their detective skills in conjunction with one another would be interesting. Also seeing how the group handles the kill/no kill conflict between the members.

My ultimate DC team

  • Leader: Batman - He runs a multi-billion dollar company and has led the JLA, he's more than adequate to lead this team.
  • Tactician: John Constantine - Most manipulative and hypnotic person on the team. His plans with Batman would make them near unbeatable.
  • Expert Marksman: Deadshot - Yes I know it would be unlikely for him to join heroes but with Constantine being as manipulative as he is, I wouldn't completely doubt it.
  • Telepath: Martain Manhunter - DC's strongest telepath, along with the various other powers he has makes him the most versatile one in the team.
  • Powerhouse: Captain Atom - I would have chosen Superman but Captain Atom doesn't have as many weaknesses and is just as formidable.
  • Back Up: Swamp Thing and Aquaman - Swamp Thing has eyes on nearly every habitable place on Earth while Aquaman can keep tabs on the seas.

There we have it;

  1. Batman
  2. John Constantine
  3. Deadshot
  4. Martain Manhunter
  5. Captain Atom
  6. Swamp Thing
  7. Aquaman

My team is called "Square One" because of the backstory:

The Marvel & DC Universes have once again fused together, but this time, there is no reality-restoration, no "everything returning to how it was"—this time there is permanent and catastrophic consequences! This final universe collision has created a NEW post-apocalyptic Earth in which all but 5 superheroes seemed have lost all their powers and memories, while countless civilians seemed to have also developed strange powers and even monster-like mutations themselves (animals appear to be unaffected). Those 5 now have to start anew in this strangerous new world as Square One:

Batman (Bruce Wayne): Team Leader

Spider-Man (Peter Parker): The Lucky One

Shadowcat (Kitty Pryde): The All-Around Backup

Falcon (Sam Wilson): The Fly Guy

The Flash (Wally West): The Most Powerful

BONUS: Kitty Pryde's dragon Lockheed and Falcon's falcon Redwing have retained their abilities and telepathic/empathic connections with their owner. Additionally, Falcon and Kitty Pryde, have found that they too now share a telepathy/empathy with one another, but only one another, no one else. Also Spider-Man and The Flash have a longstanding wager to see who can make Batman laugh first. It never happens.

For any seven person team I'd have a hard time resisting the temptation to use the magnificent seven/seven samurai formula.

Marvel version:

  1. The Hero: Luke Cage
  2. The Lancer: Iron Fist (Rand)
  3. The Big Guy: She-Hulk (Walters)
  4. The Smart Guy: Shuri
  5. The Old Guy: Captain America (Rogers)
  6. The Young Guy: Kate Bishop
  7. The Funny Guy: Hercules

DC Version:

  1. The Hero: Booster Gold
  2. The Lancer: Power Girl
  3. The Big Guy: Icon
  4. The Smart Guy: The Question (Montoya)
  5. The Old Guy: Dr. Fate (Nelson)
  6. The Young Guy: Blue Beetle (Reyes)
  7. The Funny Guy: The Flash (West)

If you've never seen Kurosawa's epic The Seven Samurai, I strongly encourage you to check it out. Or the western adaptation, The Magnificent Seven, which I find interesting because the original Kurosawa flick was so inspired by westerns.

Tactician/Leader-Batman

Magic-Doctor Strange

Tech-Iron Man

Speedster-Flash

Jack of all Trades- Green Lantern

Telepath- Professor X

Long Range- Green Arrow

And Maybe a powerhouse focused on raw strength like the Hulk or Hercules.

Didn't bother sticking to just Marvel or DC, mainly wanted to give examples of the different roles i'd want filled.

Leader - Obi-Wan Kenobi

Speedster - Wally West

Psychic - Peter Stanchek

I'd make a superhero team by faking my death, implicating @joygirl in my murder, and leaking the details to a group of would-be heroes, indicating that they are now imperiled by joy's malevolent might. After the team overcomes joygirl's minions, I'd reveal myself as the true mastermind and take everyone out for pizza.
