How would these DBZ characters be like if they were in DC?

This is not a debate about comparing the strengths of characters in DC and DBZ. Just wanted to lay that out there before I get this thread possibly locked, lol.

Instead of threads discussing about what if scenarios like Goku going to the DC Universe, how about a thread that basically integrates DBZ characters into the DC Universe (like this one).

I picked these characters because they were the most interesting characters in the series in my opinion, and their stories can be translated many ways. For example, when you take out saiyans entirely Goku's story is about one of the last survivors of a dead alien race that lives on and protects the Earth.

1. Goku

2. Vegeta

3. Frieza

4. Cell

5. Janemba

6. Buu

7. Broly

When you take their characters and biography and implement that into the DC universe, you can get quite good stories. For example, one could say that if Cell were to exist in the DC Universe he could be an experimental project from LexCorp that has gone rogue. Or Frieza could be a similar galactic dictator like Darkseid, possibly even an ally to him.

You can get really good stories when you pair up the two universes, not pitting them against one another in duels like the battle thread does so often.

@the_dark_void: Me too. However, I think his personality will be similar in all of his forms. In his perfect form he believed himself to be the strongest, and he was right because at the time no one even came close to his power. But in the DC Universe Cell would know that he is far too weak compared to DC's god entities and such. So he will pretty much remain his classically cunning self.

Assuming they didn't all know each other, (the DBZ Characters,)

  • Goku: I would see him coming to Earth, as usual in his story. The ability to turn into a Great Ape, trained by his Grandfather, and killing him by accident. However, here he doesn't meet Bulma and lives as a hermit, and legend calls him a wild man. He doesn't actively go out into the world, but Considered a great martial-arts master by those who can find his home. Since he doesn't meet any of his friends and supporting cast though, he wouldn't become as strong until he meets Vegeta--the two continually pushing each other. Here, I would honestly say DC's Goku would top-out at about Super Saiyan. Maybe SSJ2.

  • Vegeta: Originally sent as an envoy to the planet Earth to scope it out for Frieza, he ends up landing on Paradise Island, home of Wonder Woman, post-League introduction. She attempts to befriend him, but he disregards/disrespects her. The crash-landing brings in Batman (monitored the approach of Vegeta's ship,) and Superman (heard the landing from Smallville.) Vegeta's ship is blown up during the fight, with Batman critically injured, Superman having to leave to save Bruce, and Wonder Woman and Vegeta calling a truce as both fight to their limits. However this turns out to be a ruse, as Vegeta simply didn't want to fight anymore as his scouter picked up a Saiyan-level power reading, which he originally assumed was Kal, but notices it comes from another direction. He leaves to meet Goku, and the two get into a fight, with Vegeta dominating him handily. Because Goku has never died he's nowhere near the level he was when they fought in DBZ, but Vegeta is still impressed by his will and offers to help train and teach him everything he knows, telling him about Frieza and that he has 1 year to prepare for Frieza's arrival. This is where Goku develops his own techniques, some based on watching Vegeta and others he creates including the Triple-After Image, Flight, Kamehameha(based on seeing Vegeta's Galick Gun,) Dragon Fist, etc. Vegeta also mentions more people who could help him kill Frieza, alluding to the League, which makes Goku want to work harder. It's also around this time that Vegeta is inducted as a reserve member into the Sinestro Corps, opting not to fully join as he refuses to serve anyone else, though he keeps the ring, even as the Corps eventually disbands, citing he may have future use for it.

  • Frieza, coming to Earth to enlist it's super-powered populace to work for him, and also to kill The Rogue (what he calls Vegeta.) As he and his army invades Earth, along with the help of the remaining Sinestro Corps (now known as the Frieza Corps, who himself has possession of a Yellow Ring) Zarbon, Dodoria, and The Ginyus, The Justice League team up with the Saiyans for the first time. Superman falls prey to the Body Switch by Ginyu, Recoome vs. Wonder Woman is a thing, Batman fights Guldo, Zarbon ends up fighting Aquaman, Dodoria and Cyborg is a thing, and assorted Supers come together to fight the Corps members, led by Lanterns Boz and Jordan, along with Sinestro as a Green Lantern as well. It all concludes with Frieza fighting both Goku and Vegeta. Vegeta is killed in the fight, triggering Goku's Super Saiyan transformation. In this world, however, once beaten though the likes of Batman and Shazam think Goku should kill him, Goku allows him to live, and as the Corps retreat with their few remaining members, and new leader, Frieza claims that Earth will be his, becoming Goku's recurring Arch. During the fight, Goku is invited to join the Justice League. He refuses, but decides to become an honorary/reserve member as he plans to leave Earth for awhile to train and become stronger and learn more techniques so that he can fight Frieza and anyone else who threatens Earth. Superman loans him his old space station as a means of transportation, the two having become friends during the crisis.

  • Cell, is a joint ARGUS/Lexcorp/Wayne Enterprises concept created in case The League can't be used, is compromised, etc. Possessing supposably the best and none of the worst of The League, he was meant to have Superman's strength and heat vision, Flash's phasing ability, Batman and Luthor's intellect, and the ability to manipulate Ki energy like Lanterns manipulate their hard-light constructs, which Batman and Luthor have been attempting (secretly/separately, without luck, though Bruce has gained the ability of Flight at least, and Luthor the ability to sense power levels.) The project was meant to take years, but Owlman, (from Earth-3) had a similar idea in his world he never got to use, and assumed Batman would have as well, taking the project and putting his own spin and dark outlook on the world into Cell. This results in him being totally obedient to Owlman. Cell has the ability to take DNA from Supers via absorption (full or partial,) and increase/gain traits from said DNA (smarter by absorbing Lex's DNA, stronger by absorbing some of Superman's.) Cell's creation leads to The League asking Batman and Lex to leave, though out of shame, Bruce still funds the team, though he still feels there needs to be a backup for The League. Cell is only stopped by the arrival of Goku, whom Cell has no DNA on since he left before the project began. Goku has since reached Super Saiyan 2 levels, and now wears the uniform of the Yardrat as his standard. He also uses his power pole in combat since he never used it to meet Kami. He's since learned Instant Transmission, and developed the Solar Flare technique. After a brutal battle, he is able to defeat Cell, who has gained powers of most of The League, save Flash and Superman. Afterwards, he replaces Batman on The League as a permanent member. Cell secretly survives though, and goes into hiding with Owlman.

  • Janemba in DC is a demon, conjured up by an insane 5D Imp, which is where he gets his reality and matter manipulation abilities from, but only a fraction of said power. Instead of Goku though, he's meant as a foe for Superman and can shift from his fat to his Super Form at will, depending on if he's happy or mad. He doesn't care for much, other than his own enjoyment.

  • Like in the original universe, Buu is a primordial force of chaos who does little more than eat, sleep, and destroy planets. In this universe, he's drawn to sector 2814 where the Red Lanterns are attacked, being mostly destroyed save for Rankorr, Guy, Bleez, and Skallox. Zox dies trying to stop him, and The Reds manage to alert Earth's heroes. A protocal goes into effect for the GLs who had foreseen and prepared for such an event. Meaning that every active Green Lantern converges on Buu, and likewise new recruits are made of many of Earth's heroes, including Goku, Superman, Wonder Woman, Shazam, and Cyborg, with Barry Allen being given a Blue Ring as part of the Chaos Protocol, so as to empower the Greens around him in the League and get to GLs that need a boost ASAP. Buu is virtually unstoppable though. Too strong, too fast, and too unpredictable for most any GL or other hero to keep up with. During the battle, Batman comes up with the idea of creating a giant ball of Ki and/or GL Energy to use against Buu (this Universe's Spirit Bomb.) Since Goku knows the most about Ki, he's given the task of creating it. Superman, The Flash, Shazam, Batman, and Guy Gardner manage to hold him off in time for Goku to create the Spirit Bomb from a combination of Ki and the Green Lantern's Central Power Batter, brought by Hal, as well as with a boost from the Red and Green Lanterns from around him. The attack nearly destroys the Earth, but The Lanterns contain the overall explosion, though Goku is labled too powerful a threat, with Earth wanting him gone for the destruction it caused, virtually destroying a mostly abandoned city (the bomb would leave no evidence of if there were people in the area still.)

  • Broly would pretty much follow his movie canon. Another Saiyan survivor, with a hatred for Goku. He'd be far more evil though and challenges anyone he sees as a threat. At one point, the heroes find him fighting Doomsday. He pretty much travels the stars for new challenges.

Freeza would have probably been destroyed by the Green Lantern Corps pretty quick. I doubt the Guardians would even deign to negotiate with him before wiping him out.

Hopefully Dr. Fate would send them back to the DBZ universe (Though killing them would be fine to). I don't think it's a good idea for DC to advocated cancer.

That's... not the spirit!

Act as if DBZ didn't exist, and they were apart of the DC Universe. Not some guest, but is canonically integrated into the story. How would they be like? Would Planet Vegeta exist? Would Cell be some lab experiment of LexCorp? Would Goku be a Kryptonian? Think!

We would have to explain why DBZ characters do what they do scientifically (Or at least pedo-scientifically) first and film/game theory did a video on ki blasts.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zq1aPOunsFA

We still however need to explain how they fly have super speed and reflexes enhanced strength and etc. Also Goku would most likely be friend with superman beacuse you know similar backstories Vegeta would be locked up for a while Cell is a major villian so is broly and majin buu but not darkseid major
