How to deal with trolls/ the unknowledgeable?

Ok so Ive been around for a decent amount of time and I have attempted to be as nice as possible to people. And generally I think I have succeeded. I have made a lot of friends and a lot of people I have interacted with agree im pretty nice.

But I have one glaring pet peeve... Trolls and the Unknowlegeable. I always get cuaght up in their bait and then we get into a heated argument. I try to ignore them but they say something else to get me going and I'm back in the argument.

What should I do? I'm really trying to improve this about myself but Everytime I find my self getting mad.

PS: I don't have a problem with people who don't agree with me. Heck I like different opinions, but when it's an obvious troll/ fanboy THEN I get mad.

Debating fictional character battles (assuming that's how you meet the trolls and unknoledgable) is pointless unless you enjoy the actual debating. Without that, it's just a matter of "my favourite fictional character is stronger than yours!", and I would say that it's quite obvious how ridiculous that sounds. Ignore people who can't put together a good argument and you'll be good.

Dont get your panties in a bundle over random anonymous people saying dumb things about fictional characters

Option 1:if he doesn't change his biased opinion even after multiple posts, Quote what everyone has said to him, he's not worth the effort to debunk anymore .

Option 2: troll him back. Any verse can be wanked, if he's using biased logic and bs calculations, make your own. And try to convince him

Option 3: if the thread is dead, say that you disagree and ignore it.

If you argue with a troll, they win. That's all they are trying to do, get a reaction out of you. If they are a troll, it will be clear to everyone and no one will fault you for just dropping it. So don't feel like you need to keep arguing just because they said something else. You will never win that way.

Well, when I was younger on this site and less knowledgeable, I was wrong often. Just accept being wrong and move on. Now that I am better and can spot the unknowledgeable and I just ignore them if they dont get the message the first time, just ignore it

Or you're saying I'm missusing the slang form?

If you meant the slang form then I understand what your saying when I said trolls/ unknowledgeable I meant trolls and unknowledgeable not saying they're the same. :)

Ignore, or beat them at their own game. Troll the trolls.

@snes9x: Ik man. Hence why I made the thread I really just seem to have this pet peeve that I can't deal with trolls. And not funny ish ones like the bait threads just people attempting to make you made and don't stop responding to you.

But meh.
