Or does his shield's 'physics' protect him from stuff like that?

Like, I know Cap's strong, but taking a bunch of punches from Hulk to the shield should technically break his arm eventually, right?

@groovyash: He probably gets hurt a bit but like Fade said, the vibranium elements absorbs most of, if not all, the blow.

Not really. The shield was dented by RKT and he still took it, if memory serves.
