They were $1.25 each when I started in the late 80s but that's a 25 cent increase because I'm in Canada. 8 )
How much did comics cost when you first started collecting?
For real? My uncle is almost 70 and he used to have a bunch of comics from the 1950s. A lot of different genres during that time, but kind of sad from a collectors point of view. He was to young to have bought the Golden Age original Superman/Batman/Captain America stuff but then he was to old to be buying comics by the early 60s when the Marvel books started coming out.10 cents...
I started collecting in the late 1980s and IIRC I could still find some for $0.75. They went up rapidly though and about four years later the early Image Comics were $1.95.

I don't collect comics, so I wouldn't know what you're talking about... OH! You're talking about BUYING them to READ. Still don't know, soz :P
They were $1.50-$1.95 when I first started. I fell out for a bit, and when I got back into it, they were $2.25.
65 cents I believe on the covers. But I first bought comics at this awesome flea market for 25 cents a piece when I was like 9 or 10.
If I can ask, where did everyone buy their first comic?
