I have one box filled with Batman, one filled with various DC books, and a half full box of mostly Marvel with some independent comics in there. I also have an entire medium sized shelf of mostly DC and some Marvel TPB books.
My collection mostly consists of various comics like: Green Lantern, anything Batman related, Secret Six, both DC all star collections, Young Avengers, Captain America, and almost anything 'Dark Reign' related.
My most prized book would have to be a first print copy of 'The Killing Joke' that I found for $2.

I have 6 different boxes. Spider-man comics fill up about 1 and a half a box. I have a lot of Spider-man. Then after that there's Spideys' villains' comics, and basically anything related to Spider-man, which takes up a half a box. Then comes overall X-Men comics [including X-Force, Factor, New Mutants, etc, and some of the individual X-Characters' series [like Gambit, Wolverine, Cable, Magneto, etc.]], which fills up about a box. Then Deadpool comics, which fill up about half a box. Then there's all the other Marvel comics [like Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Avengers, New Avengers, Dark Avengers [etc], Fantastic Four, and so on and so forth, which takes up another box. Then DC Comics, which I don't have that much of. The only DC comics I have are Superman, Action Comics, Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Detective Comics, Green Lantern, Joker, Harley Quinn, and Deathstroke [whole series btw], which takes up a box. Yeah I know, I need more DC comics. But the thing is, I started out with Marvel, and didn't start reading DC until about a year after I started with comics, which is why the majority of my comics are from Marvel.I'd say I have about 600 comics, if not more [not including CGC comics]. I have a lot of rare pricey comics but I'd probably say my Amazing Spider-man 300, which is CGC'd at an 8.5, is probably my favorite. Well, either that or my Amazing Spider-man 298 signed by Todd Mcfarlane.

....Suck them apples. Lol.

So I figure I'm in the area of about 3000 or so.  I'd say about half my collection is Superman/DC related the other half goes to marvel image darkhorse and anything else i just had to have.  My most treasured issue might be Superman #1 from the original start of the series..Not action comics of course but just Superman...I even managed to get it sighed by the artist.  I guess I've been growing my collection since I was a kid a lot got torn up on the way though...

It's funny you ask because I just organized and counted my collection a few months back. The amount is 7938......and that is an exact count, I know because I counted the damn things twice.

My most prized comic is X-Men #1. I bought it for 1200$ and it's in great condition.

Eh, i counted a few weeks back and i had 205 comics but since i buy a lot of comics i am pretty sure its above that.

My most prized one would have to be the first ever issue of Daredevil with the origin and everything.

Let's see, I have 3 huge tubs full of comics. Mostly Marvel however. If I had to guess how many are there I would say over 6k. My most valuable ones are X-men #1 and #2 from the first volume. Favorites I'm not so sure of, just depends on my mood at the time.

I dunno...'round 40-60...
And my most prized would either be JLA/Avengers or the Sub-Mariner issue where he finishes the fight with Tiger Shark for the first time.

Yuppers.
Would of had a bunch more from that era from my father. But out of spite one day one of his brothers tour up a bunch of his comics. He then beat him up, got in trouble and gave most of them away. Stopped collecting them for a long time after that.

They are in decent enough shape. I would not say mint condition or anything like that. But there are no torn pages, tears, marks or anything like that. Honestly I was not sure how much they are worth now. Last time I had looked they were running 600-650. I'm more of a collector than a seller, so I won't be getting rid of them any time soon.

wow...umm, are the first and second issue at least in good condition? because I mean, on MHC they sell a fair copy for $810...I mean, wow, I can understand if you wouldn't want to sell it but I'm starting to wonder why some comics are worth so much money, it seems like everyone on this site (but me) owns some extremely rare and expensive comic "
I don't own anything rare, at least to my knowledge. I don't really keep track of the value.

@aztek the lost: Yeah I see that too. I only have one rare/expensive comic, and it's in wretched condition, and probably wouldn't sell to well. and that is Giant Size X-Men number 1.

as for individual comics, I have all of Planetary in single issues, and i have somewhere around 500 Batman comics. and then as for the rest I probably has about 1000 single issues of various comics,

the majority of my stuff is in trade. and most my old stuff is in horrible condition, cause i was six when i first started collecting comics, so I didn't treat them with the respect they deserve, I literally rolled them up, folded them, and spilled things on them. they aren't too pretty well most of them.

Exact number I have no Idea. My best guess would be between 9000 and 13000.

I have about 10 boxes ( all approximately the width of two and a half comics wide, the hight of a comic + 10 laying on top, and the depth of the height of a comic laying down plus a few comic widths). Aside from By boxes I have a full bookshelf  (three shelves all comics standing up and two deep)

My collection includes complete runs of Batman. detective, Batman Family, Superman, Action, Adventure, JLA, Doom Patrol, All Star Comics, Defenders, Daredevil, and weird war tales from 76 to 88(ish) not after (hated the unbeatable Bat god change)
also complete runs of
All Star Squadron, Infinity Inc, Yong All Stars, Justice Society (both series),Teen Titans (Wolfman & Perez), Titans, Spotlight on Titans, Vigilante, Manhunter (Mark Shaw), Question(Vic Sage), Question Quarterly, Blue Beetle (Ted Kord), Booster Gold (both series), Pm & IF, New Mutants, Uncanny Xmen (till 90), Xmen(till 88),X factor, West coast Avengers, Squadron Supreme, Starman ( Both Peyton and Jack Knight), Outsiders, L.E.G.I.O.N, R.E.B.E.L.S (both series), Arion, Dr Fate (both series), Fate, Book of Fate,  Shadowpact, Sentinel, Spectre, Hellblazer (intill 98) Suiside Squad, Checkmate, Firestorm (original), Captain Atom, Blue Devil, Green Arrow (grell era), GL/GA, Green Lantern (up to 90), GLC (series 1), Aquaman, Sword of the atom, Atom, Outsiders (original)JLA ,JLI, JLE, JLTF, Extreme Justice, Black Hood (Red Circle version), Mighty Crusaders (RC), Shield (RC), Jaguar (RC), Dark Nebula, Southern Squadron, Jackaroo, and Cyclone comics Anthology.

Also maxi's/mini's like
COIE, Legends, Invasion, Millenium, reign in hell, Phnatom Stranger ,  Books of magic, Watchmen, Underworld unleashed, zero hr,

Other titles that I only bought occasionally (maybe 1 in 3 or 4 include
Thor, Avengers, FF, Hulk, Silver Surfer,  Mutant X, Spiderman, Punisher.

As far as the PRIDE of my collection. I'd say that that would be All Star Comics 12 to 17 (though the print is really worn and you have to squint to make out a few words)
The one thing truly missing from my collection ( I just missed out on a few on Ebay recently that went well over what I could afford) the GA (1940 in particular) Black Hood (guess that wasn't really a surprise since that's my avatar.

i have about 325 tpb's and about 1600 individuals. And my absolute most prized comics are Secret Wars #8(my first comic),  All-American Comics  #16 (a gift from my uncle) , and Justice League of America #12 signed by Michael Turner.
