9, not based on his tech development but on his actual scientific conversations with big brains like Richards, Pym, and Stark.

10. He's a genius. The guy created his web shooters, the tracking devices, overrided Tony's password on the Iron Spider Armor, created his own martial arts to suit him, etc.

Eight is good. Dr. Parker is one smart wallcrawler.

I'd put him somewhere right after the "8 smartest Marvel characters" thing that they did a while back....so somewhere under Beast level

If ten is TOAA and nine is Galactus, I'd put him around 7, near batman but decidedly below Richards. If we are just using people below beings like Galactus, and ten is Richards, I'll put him at 8.

I can name a lot of people who is much smarter than him.

He is more of a book-smart as in science wiz so i give him 8

@kgb725: Well, how big a range are we talking about for each number? In my book, a 7 is barely average--average. 8 is above average. 9 is almost a genius, but not quite there. 10 is a genius/prodigy. At least, that's how I think of it.

9ish. If he could find balance between his life and crime fighting he could reach Reed level.

8- Peter Parker, Bruce Wayne, Hank McCoy (genius)

Depends on the scale, are we making a 10 omniscience? Or is this a scale only concerning non superhuman levels of intelligence. If its the later than all of the top 8 smartest is a 10 since they are all near eachother and spidey would be a 8 or 9.

If the former than spidey would be a 6 or 7

Seeing as even Tony Stark, with FAR more resources than Parker, couldn't even figure out the formula for his web fluid, I'm thinking 9 or 10.

If 10 is Galactus, I'd put Spidey at a 7.

I find Peter Parker to be underrated when it comes to how smart he is. While he is not a 10 with Richards and Dr. Doom, there are many feats out there that put him on par with McCoy and Stark. He isn't compared properly because these other great minds will do what they want without regards to others, only wanting to quell their own curiosity. Parker however will abandon everything to help those around him without thinking twice.

I had to go with nine because ten would be more appropriate for Reed and Black Panther. Peter is one smart cookie, though.

@voodoopenguin: Otto failed to figure out a code that took peter mere moments ti figure out. Otto is smart, but not as smart as Peter, for me, Pete is an 8 with potential to be a 10. He tied reed richards test scores when Reed was his age. He's out smarted ironman before, and holds scientific conversations with all the big leagues all the time. It's just if he puts his mind to it.
