How intelligent is hulk

I've seen instances when hulk is shown to be a complete idiot and I've also seen comics where he is smart enough to fly jets and other things that normal people can't do with their average intelligence. My questions are

1. How smart is the hulk

2.When did he get this smart

3.Is this a direct result of banner slowly growing accustom to the hulk

Depends on which version honestly and hes been smart for awhile depending on which one

It is an interesting question. But my personal opinion would be that the Hulk is smart, but to a degree. The Hulk is driven by rage. Rage can restrict logical thinking, and one can act in a illogical manner. Although the Hulk can control his transformation, it doesn't necessarily mean that he is not blinded by rage. Bruce Banner is very intelligent and because the Hulk and Banner are the same person, Hulk is smart, but not as intelligent as Banner.Does that make sense?

About as smart as a politician

Depends. Several versions have fused with Banner's personality to make a intelligent Hulk (Professor Hulk, World War Hulk and sometimes Grey Hulk) while others are like Savage, Mindless Hulk, and his more rage-filled incarnations either can't talk or speak in several words and refer to themselves in the third person.
