Is it even possible that he wouldn't have killed somone? Even if only by accident? Any single one of the goons he punches could suffer some sort of fatal trauma from being hit hard. Batman would not know if one has an underlying medical condition that would lead to death after taking a pounding from anyone, not just a peak condition master fighter. Thats not even thinking about people caught in explosions.
How has Batman never killed?
He has by accident, i remember once fighting a huge group he slapped a guy and he fall out the building.
He also killed Ras and try it a second time.
Also the whole batmobile weapons and gadgets, they must be design not to kill people.
He avoids killing but he has done in the past. I guess he could've killed someone by accident as well but I can't imagine many medically sick people going into that line of business. It's possible though.
Well I mean it is fiction. Like if he hit some of the thugs the way he does in real life they would suffer some fatal drain damage. He does some pretty brutal moves to some of those guy from relentlessly punching them in the face to slamming the head against concrete multiple times. So yeah if it was real life a lot of the guy would either need some serious medical attention or be dead from fatal brain damage.
What about Lord Death Man? The Guy who dies over and over again but comes back to life? Well, Batdick launched him into space. >__>
Batman didn't kill Ra's Al Ghul in that scan. The full page actually shows him casually talking to Ra's as he's bent over at his knees. I don't remember how exactly Ra's healed, from the Lazurus pits or what, but Batman knew he wouldn't die. The first time he killed Ra's, like actually killed, was in a silver/golden age story where he shot his rocket into the sun or something. Ra's actually died but seeing the comic age it was written in, and the fact that story itself was largely ignored, nobody really counts it.
Batman actually killed one more time in his career, but unlike Superman, all his successful or unsuccessful attempts are retconned out. The best example now (even though the n52 negates it) is his attempted killing of Darkseid.
@buttersdaman000: Well the time he made Ras crash with a laser in space, then Robin point he killed Ras and Batman pretty much goes sitcom one liner at the end.
But i cant find the page online, also i want to point Batman stab Ras in a deadly way, if something wrong happened Ras would had died.
Also Batman has killed loads of people (definitely 20+) both accidentally and on purpose, and as late as the 80s at least.
Batman and Superman have killed. They don't want to kill and if they can they will avoid killing at all costs but they have done it.
@silent_bomber: @deathpoolthet1000:
yeah, that was the time I was talking about. I could've sworn it was silver/golden age though. But still, it was retconned and forgotten about all the same.
I actually like that in the golden age a lot of his kills (if not the majority) are accidentally or at least not that intentional. He will be okay if they don't die but won't shed a tear if they die. I don't like him killing but I think we should have more disscution in comics about his accidentally killing. After all he hits people's cars and flips them over, and beats people up in buildings, someone is bound to get killed more often.
