In the death of superman story line it I stated that he can fly from coast to coast in 4 seconds. The U.S. Is 2747 miles across. Divided by four that is 686.75 mph a second. Times 60 times 60 is 2,472,300 mph. Though it might be faster. He can run around 1100 mps

Im thinking after watching Man of Steel Superman's powers of strength, speed would fall into the incaculatable category. He's always evolving. So Id guess my answer would be He can go as fast as he needs to.
