How do you read an event in comics?

How do you like or prefer to read an "Event" in comics?

Do you read the initial series and subsequent runs or do you go by the "reading order?"

I try to stick by reading order

Well the way I do it is I follow this. The reading order helps a lot.

I usually try to read the important tie ins with the event like Avengers and New Avengers with Infinity. If I like the event, I will pick up other tie ins for series I'm not already collecting.

Well, I suppose the actual first thing I do is to wait til the event is over so I can just read it straight and not have to wait..you know, weeks at a time.
