@matthewparker tell me how it was when you get back tonight!
all the early reviews are saying its a masterpiece, hoping to take a girl to go see it tomorrow
Im sorry but that has got to be hyped. But idk we will see.

I liked it! i gave it 3/5...I think the hype kind of ruined it (i expected to much). But i still really enjoyed it. When are you going to see it?
Also i was kind of disappointed with the villains.

I'll watch it on the 5th of this month. You didn't like Ronan or the collector?
3/5.
So its just good? I have my expectations pretty low for this movie

Its like Thor 2. Big downfall is the story and lack of a good villain. No fault of the actor but Ronan is completely boring and dull. He's just there to temporarily hold the infinity stone while we all wait for Thanos.
I thought it doesn't comes until the 8th? I must be thinking of a different movie
isn't that ninja turtles?
I liked the movie. Wasn't a fan of what they did with Nova's as a whole. They were all human...or aliens that looked exactly like humans. They were pretty much just cops , standard cops nothing special about them
As good as Avengers in every way except the familiarity and popularity of the characters.
QFT. I'd give it a solid 4 to 4.5.
@zhurong: TMNT
@those_eyes: the Collector wasn't really a villain in this. The main villains were Ronan, Nebula, and Korath. The only one I sorta liked was Nebula.

In terms of pure entertainment I'd definitely agree.
@matthewparker: Haven't seen it yet, but I didn't expect stellar villains since other than Loki and Robert Redford the MCU has yet to really do well with villains and to be honest Robert Redford's character was only really good because it was Robert Redford and that dude could make damn near anything good.
@billy_batson: Nah, he was just your standard issue Business man villain and honestly his super villain turn at the end really didn't make much sense.
@joshmightbe: yeah I agree, hopefully Thanos, and Ultron will break the current Streak of bad villains. Did you like Redskull?
3.5 for me, almost a four.
The Good:
-Rocket and Groot were amazing
-Starlord was good in a Han Solo kind of way (makes me want the new SW to hurry up now)
-Great visuals
-Good humor for the most part
The Bad:
-Gamora was standard "Hot chick who kicks butt"
-Although I liked most of the humor, some felt forced and flat
-The villains is just as boring and bland as Malekith and Mandarin and all Marvel villains not named Loki before him.
-Sucky end credit scene
-Want more Starlord backstory
-Not enough Mad Titan
Overall, it was good, but I like both X-Men:DOFP and Winter Soldier more.
Quick question... would a person enjoy it such as my family members who know nothing about comic books?
Yes, they will enjoy it, the movie has a lot of comedy and great action scenes, the general audience will perfectly enjoy the movie.
I liked it. Alot.
But as usual, fans love to complain. People moan "Not enough Thanos!" It was just set up. Calm down jeez.
And i liked Ronan. If he had been explored more he would have been awesome. And he easily has the best MCU villain quote of Phase 2
Beata
@matthewparker: He wasn't bad but he didn't inspire much of the dread that should come with Red Skull.
Got to see it, thankfully.
Too much shaky cam and I was sorely upset over how toned down they made Groot and Drax in terms of physical strength. Also, wasn't fond of the rubbery CGI when Ronan was tossing Drax around in their scuffle. Baby groot is officially the cutest thing ever to appear on screen...ever. Celestials mentioned and shown = awesome, so happy to see that type of thing.
I would say 4.5. It was really funny and had a lot of solid action. One complaint--I couldn't stand Karen Gillan as Nebula. Nebula was a walking cliche. I've seen that kind of villain at least a hundred times before. Also, Zoe Saldana was also a little disappointing because she pretty much did her role Avatar again. She didn't come across as intimidating, yet she was supposed to be one of the most dangerous women in the galaxy. Other than that, however, I really enjoyed the movie. I'd rank it just a little below The Avengers.
I give it a 3/5 . Would've been a 2 but got to see somebody for the first time . But Rocket & Groot pretty much made the movie . I found myself fantasizing about Zoe (Gamora) & Scarlett (Black Widow)
It wasn't perfect so no 5 but it was a solid 4. an above average film and well up their in Marvels top 3 movies imo.
I'd give it a 4/5. It was a good movie and a great introduction into the cosmic side of the MCU. It had a few issues, mainly with the villain, but nothing that a sequel couldn't fix.
If you go in not knowing comic book knowledge I think it's a great movie. My mother wanted to watch it (she's not into comic books or comic book based
Movies at all) so I took her and my youngest sister to watch it (who also doesn't read comics and aside from Captain America: The First Avengers, hasn't watched any Marvel movies) and they were able to follow the movie quite easily and loved it!
If you are a fan of the comics and know basic facts about the characters and such, you'll be a tad annoyed of the lack of back story of some characters, the incorrect interpretation of characters and such.
I personally would have liked to have known a bit more about Ronin I didn't completely prepare myself to watch the movie like I should have :/ and the end credit was probably the most disappointing one ever. Don't get me wrong, it was kinda funny and neat to see the character involved, but if you didn't know the character who was in it, it completely meant nothing to you. I was hoping for something... exciting.
Zoe's play on Gamora was a tad disappointing to me, but my sister and mom loved her soooo idk if it's just because I know the character that I held the bar a little higher or what..?
But rocket raccoon and groot are what made the movie for me. Loved the jokes and the two characters complimented each other perfectly! Of course Starlord was pretty damn cool, I enjoyed the character and his interactions with the other characters. Drax took a bit longer for me to embrace but towards the end I began to enjoy his character.
4/5 for me! I recommend it!
I thought the movie was really great, probably my new favorite Marvel movie. I agree with some of the complaints about Ronin but it really doesn't take away from everything else for me. Rocket and Groot were perfect, and Chris Pratt did an amazing job as Star Lord.
