i mean he is engineer. which probably worked hard and his maids are doing all home cleaning thing and so how did he gain muscles?
he is working hard on projects before being iron man man
@paypaytr: He works out!
You can gain muscle from practically anything. You answered you own question, all that tinkering and lifting, of course he's gonna put on some muscle. Not to mention he works out and has trained in h2h with Cap and others (I assume). I don't think he could pilot the Iron Man armor while being a string bean.
Dbol and test cycle for 8 - 10 weeks plus lifting heavy and eating like a king. Boom all the muscle.
You know other people have jobs too and they find time to work out. I'm on these forums for hours each day yet I find time to be a student, work, and be a student athlete and plenty of people around the world find time to go to the gym or at least exercise every now and then dude. Don't think Tony's ever been specifically portrayed to be bodybuilder level buff like other characters in comics at that point clearly there's a problem but he's just a relatively fit guy and that's really easy to manage dude trust me.
To drive home the point Tony works I'm sure the average amount of hours anyone else does think of it in terms of yourself how do YOU find time to work out? Then there's your answer dude.
Maybe he works out every now and then?
Yeah probably. If someone has scans they could show us that'd be nice....
Even with the it giving him superstrength, I imagine the Iron Man suit is not light or easy to move around in. So given how often he pilots the thing, it'd make sense for him to build up muscle. Not to mention all the physical activity he gets up to while in it: He may not be doing the heavy lifting, but he's still moving around. That'd build muscle too.

Because he's drawn that way.
