i think what used to happen was when a villian is revealed to be a parent of a hero it had shock value i mean common how did you feel when you heard "luke i am your father" for the first time? i think it has just became to common that now heroes are children of villians it hs become almost a standard that is still going in comicseally strong it just no longer has shock value
