I'm starting to get into reading the amazing spider man. The question for the community are what are every bodies top 10 favorite graphic novels.

I understand that "Kraven's Last Hunt" and "The Birth of Venom" are extremely good. What are some other ones.

Thanks for every bodies input!

@JediXMan: yes because I hate collecting a large group of comics ( say 70 ) then find out I'm missing 2 of them. My OCD cant handle it.

@matanui123:

I get that. I just mean that I, personally, am not a big Spider-Man fan, so I don't have a whole lot of recommendations (except, perhaps, "Spider-Man: Blue")

@matanui123:

Quite honestly, a lot of my general recommendations would include the X-Men and some Vertigo stuff.

@SoA: Yes I have actually collected the ultimate series all the way up to the V22 then I stopped because I couldn't find anything else at my local comic book store.

@guttridgeb: Thanks!

Just curious but does the Civil War have to do with that "Ultimate Alliance 2" game?

@matanui123: Yeah, I believe MUA2 was based on Civil War - I haven't played it yet so I'm not certain :)

@guttridgeb: If you get the time you should rent it. Its a very well thought out game that's just as good as the original.

Very loosely. The general idea of the Registration Act is about where the similarities end.

Ugh. I hated MUA 2...

Hated the story, gameplay was severely stripped down, very few and generic environments (with the exception of Wakanda, which didn't look bad), limited roster, only 2 costumes, poor voice acting, repetitive missions, simply boss battles, gimmicky "fusion" system.

Fair enough. I was a little bit younger when it came out so I really didn't pay to much attention but I can see your point. The points you brought up are pretty hard to avoid when the producers are dealing with such large groups of characters so realistically it wasn't that bad.

I'm comparing it to the first MUA, not on its own - and on it's own I still have the aforementioned problems. There is no excuse when a sequel is of lesser quality than its predecessor. You know what that translates as? It translates as "those fans loved the first game. No matter what we put out, they'll buy this $60 video game even if it's not worth the gas it took to pick it up." It's lazy.

Get the Essential Spider-man books. They're in black & white, but they're awesome.
