This is going to sound really geeky and somewhat toolish, but when I work out or commit to something, I look at characters like Batman, Supes, Captain America, Wolverine etc.. to give myself a litle push. Have any characters ever inspired you to do something whether it be physical or mental?
Have Any Characters Inspired You?
@vortex13: I meant inspiration as more of a psychological standpoint instead of achieving their physical attributes. You mentioned Iron Maiden, I like you. ^^
Not really, but I kind of feel like I underwent a similar "transformation" to the one Oliver Queen went through.
@xxmarvelousdcxx: Oh, well in that case Wonder Woman for being a bad-ass female hero and a fairly good role model for girls.
Power Girl pre New 52 for pretty much the same reason.
Captain America for, despite his name, being a hero that isn't a yes man to the government and will disagree with the establishment while standing for the ideal of what the US is supposed to be.
Green Arrow because he is a fellow archer and he always strives to improve his skill with the bow.
There are probably others but I can't think of them at the moment.
I sometimes think of this scene when I need to push myself.
Goku's training in Dragon Ball is also pretty inspiring. Gotta work hard to increase my power level!

Batman's peak human physicality as well as Steves SSS, and IM/Mr. Fantastic's engineering. All this wants me to test my human potential mentally and physically. This affected me in a way because I wanna become an engineer, as well as push my human limits physically. And everything this guy said^^
I was acutally going to make a thread about this asking if its strange or weird for somebody to look up to a fictional character because I certainly do. And I know this is Comic Vine and what I am about to say is considered blasphemy by many , but one of the people I look up to or am inspired by is Goku (besides his parenting or lack of parenting lol) and my real life role model/inspiration is Tupac Shakur.
Yes. I think most comic characters represent something special and when I think of them, it pushes me in a specific way. Green Lantern, the definition of courage and will power, always manages to make me want to push harder. The idea of Superman always gives me hope. Those are the two biggest ones for me.

Nice choices.
Power girl inspired me to get big boobs
lol.
I'm not sure if this qualifies, but characters like Hawkeye, The Flash, Spider-man, ect. Pretty much shaped me into bringing out the wise crack, snarky side of me for better or worse.

Now, I'm writing a science-fantasy story that I've been working on for a few years, and the characters and world have slowly molded around my main protagonists, and antagonist, but when I saw that Brandon Thomas had already published a book featuring a protagonist not unlike my own, it helped inspire me to continue with my story, and made me believe that yeah, people will read it if I publish it.
Most of my favorite characters like Wolverine, Daredevil, Captain America, Batman, Thor, Black Panther, etc. have traits that I try emulate.
@darling_luna: I love plot.
Any who; I would say Shazam/Captain Marvel
Yes, whenever I have to do long distance running at school I pretend I Batman trying to catch the Joker. I still don't win the race but at least I don't come last.
@ostyo: More like "I learned to care more about people who aren't me."
I didn't grow a kickass beard though.
