@superguy1591: my point exactly no one was scared of MoS' drawing power like the MCU movies.

@wavemotioncannon: because it came off of superman returns. If MOS 2 was coming out in 2016 in place of BvS movies would avoid going up against it.

@kfabz-23: if you read my earlier posts I said the same thing basically, Returns tanked the franchise and The Bat trilogy made it an interesting enough risk to make MoS. I also said I wanted MoS before BvS to show how much better a hero he'd be worth experience under his belt and being more comfortable in his role. The fact that no one would've made MoS if it weren't for TDK etc shows how much Supes fell off cinematically and as far as comics he's behind Batman at DC and his sales are less than some Marvel title iirc.

@gp3: quality dip. Just look at the audience score.

Plus, you have to look at competition between the two movies.

@wavemotioncannon: 3 movies moved for MoS, just not Pixar. Pixar wouldn't move for Batman either or even the Avengers.

And if the movie doesn't have any competition like GOTG it also helps but think in 2013 Frozen, when it was released was murdered by Hunger Games Catching Fire, but the quality was there and with time made 1.2 B worldwide.

Captain America has taken over fools. You got him visiting sick kids as their wish, escorting old lady's to the stage & winning best fight sequence. He is THE MAN & who the hell is Superman??

to the OP...

No.

You are either ignoring reality or you are intentionally trolling. Superman at B or C list? Really?? Due to the financial success of one film??? Bro... get over yourself.

For a comicbook forum an awful lot of people here seem to be basing the ENTIRETY of the debate over a comicbook character's popularity on the success of a single movie adaptation.

@mrs_rogers: agreed!! Cap is probably the hottest solo hero at moment. He's got hottezt pic(TWS) and Civil War is probably the most anticapated. Cap has come a long way in a short time. Biggest list according to Hollywood: #1. Cap, #2. IM, #3. Hulk(he's been the most demanded hero since Avengers) #4. Thor/Spiderman, #5. Batman, #6. Wolverine/Superman.

Nah, Superman is on Icon level. He is engraved in American mythology. Only a few comic characters have reached this level. So in short Superman still is and will always be an A -lister

Superman has become increasingly irrelevant because he's an incredibly bland character. That's why Batman headlines his sequel, in a desperate hope ol' Bats popularity will rub of on him.

Someone should make a thread like, "Dealing With Trolls 101: How to Know You're Dealing with a Troll and What to Do When You Come Across One."

I wouldn't say he's anything below an A-lister. Certainly, he's not as iconic as he used to be, but we're also in a much more critical America than we used to be, one much less willing to place their faith in a red and blue flying symbol of justice and the American Way. But he's still got, what, four comics out right now? He's headlining one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2016. People still buy Superman shirts left and right. And if you ask anyone to name some superheroes off the top of their head, you can bet Superman will spring to mind immediately. He remains instilled into the public consciousness in a major way.

His not a B lister. He is one of the top 4 selling superheroes with merchandises only behind Spider-man, Batman and Avengers.

Does that make X-men B listers? No

With movies Ironman, Cap, Spiderman & Batman are the only ones to make more money than a solo superman film. Does that make Hulk a B lister? No

Him and batman were the reason for Injustice Gods among us success because they were the two characters that got people hyped for the game

There is more to a superhero being an A lister than just movie success. Lock the thread.

@darthmanhunter: "...Until people dont believe in that he will always be relevant and awesome."

I always have found Supes to be boring and only really like him in Justice League comics, but I will always support him because of what he stands for.

P.S. I loved MoS.

No. He can't be performing at a C level in his own universe if he's the only one who has been introduced so far...
